In the wake of #HurricaneBeryl's push through #Galveston and then #Houston, an estimated 1.6 million are still without power in sweltering temperatures where the heat index is more than 100 degrees. Among those without power are members of the RYZE Claim Solutions team who live in Houston. The utility companies are working hard to restore power, but it may take days to get everyone electricity due to the damage Beryl caused. #Beryl made landfall early Monday morning on the Texas coast near Galveston as a #Category1 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center. The hurricane brought with it winds of 80 mph, storm surge and heavy rain. News reports say that hundreds of thousands of people in East Texas are without power. The latest National Hurricane Center forecast shows #HurricaneBeryl is over the Yucatan Peninsula and will emerge into the Gulf of Mexico later today as a tropical storm. The NHC projects Beryl will re-strengthen into a hurricane again before making landfall late Sunday or early Monday. An RYZE Claim Solutions update on #HurricaneBeryl. At 5 p.m. Eastern July 2, the #NationalHurricaneCenter estimates Beryl is still a Category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds of more than 150 mph. The hurricane is projected to lose some strength but will still be a major hurricane when it hits #Jamaica early Wednesday. Here's the latest discussion about Beryl from the NHC: https://lnkd.in/gmwPu9DQ? After that, Beryl should continue to lose some strength as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula on Friday, according to the NHC. But there is significant disagreement about the path Beryl will take, as well as the storm's strength once it reaches the Gulf of Mexico. The so-called "spaghetti" map below shows the path various models have projected for Beryl. Our thoughts at RYZE are with the people of Jamaica and the #Cayman Islands, both of which are in Beryl's path. Another #HurricaneBeryl update. Beryl continues to cross the Caribbean as a powerful Category 4 hurricane. Sustained winds are now up to 150 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. This is the earliest that a hurricane has reached that intensity in history. At RYZE Claim Solutions, our thoughts are with anyone in the path of this dangerous storm in the Caribbean. Although it's expected to weaken later this week, Beryl will remain hurricane as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula. #Hurricane #Beryl has now formed in the Atlantic Ocean and the National Hurricane Center forecasts that Beryl will become a major hurricane in the next two days as it approaches the Windward Islands. The #NHC's forecasters point out that it's "unusual" for such a storm to form this early in the season in the Atlantic Ocean. But the Atlantic is warmer than normal, and El Nino has disappeared.
