Please help us congratulate Betsy Cabrera, RN at our Centennial clinic, for being a 2023 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses nominee! Betsy was recognized by one of her patients last year for her exceptional care. Here is what that patient had to say about her: "Betsy is awesome. I've been coming to RMCC for iron deficiency for several years. Every time I am fortunate enough to have Betsy as my nurse it is a wonderful experience. She is always friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable, very kind. She is always concerned about you as a person, not just a patient. She also has one stick and I'm connected. My veins have historically been difficult, but Betsy is a pro and never has an issue. She knows exactly what's being done and what I need. When I walk into the room and see her I'm confident everyone there is being well taken care of by Betsy or one of her capable RNs. She's a pleasure to know and be associated with!"

We are proud to recognize Becca Mudd, RN at our Aurora clinic, for being a 2023 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses nominee! A patient of Becca's nominated her for this award last year for distinguished care. Here is what the patient had to say about her: "Becca was my first nurse at RMCC, and she immediately made me feel calm. She is super competent, frequently stepping in to help other nurses who are learning or less experienced. During the eight four-hour chemo treatments I've had, I have seen Becca interact with patients who are expressing various emotions. She always responds with calming words and kindness, as well as having a great sense of humor. She is interested in hearing about patients' lives, while still being attentive to her nursing responsibilities. She answers questions well and is careful to observe safety protocols. Her smile is reassuring and she shows complete confidence when doing her work. I'm always so happy when she's in the room, even when she's not assigned to care for me. When she sees me in the building, she remembers me and calls me my nickname."

Congratulations to Madeline Heiar, RN at our Denver - Midtown clinic, for being a 2023 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient! Madeline was nominated last year by a patient who wanted to recognize her for the outstanding care she has provided. Here is what one of her patients had to say about her: "Although Madeline is relatively new to the Midtown RMCC, she has distinguished herself as a nurse I look forward to having for my immunotherapy treatments. She is kind, efficient, and a wonder to behold juggling all of her patients. She made an effort to get to know me as an individual and always remembers to ask me about what has happened in my life since I last saw her. She is skillful at her profession and I can honestly say I never feel the prick from her readying the IV. Other mentions should go to her co-worker, Bailey, who in addition displays the same excellent care that I have come to receive in treating my cancer. Also, the nursing supervisor, Hannah, who always has a kind word. They all feel like family and make my trips to RMCC Midtown something I can look forward to with joy. Having my wife's experiences, who is also in the healthcare industry, allows me to appreciate Madeline even more for her skill and compassion. Thanks for allowing me a forum to express my gratitude for her care."
