Female founders don't need more accelerators - we need more funding.🙂
Accelerators can provide valuable resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, but they often fail to address the primary challenge we face as female founders: access to capital. Less than 2% of venture capital funding goes to female-founded companies, and this number dwindles even further for women of color.
Without sufficient funding, many female entrepreneurs struggle to scale their businesses, hire teams, or invest in necessary infrastructure.
Accelerators can offer guidance, but they can't replace the crucial financial support needed to bring innovative ideas to market.
What female founders truly need is a level playing field in the investment landscape.
This means we need more investors who are committed to supporting diverse founders and recognizing the potential of businesses led by women. By increasing access to capital, we can empower female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, drive economic growth, and bring about much-needed innovation across industries.
Accelerators can be helpful but they are not the solution to the systemic funding disparities that female founders face.
True progress will come from more equitable funding opportunities.

A report has shown that only 13% of Web3 founding teams include a woman 👩
This report by BCG X also found that male-founded Web3 startups raise almost four times more capital than those founded by women 💰
Simone Berry, cofounder of a startup that aims to make Web3 more inclusive, adds that investment in companies founded by women is low because investors tend to be male. 👨
She asserts: "Male investors tend to invest in people who look like them, resemble them, have similar backgrounds."
