ROCKY RACOON IS NOW PART OF THE FAMILY Their Sunday plans for a boat ride took an unexpected turn when they discovered a frightened raccoon clinging to the side of their boat. It turned out that an alligator had relentlessly pursued poor Rocky, leaving him desperate for safety. Without hesitation, they decided to bring him home and take care of him. Little did they know that Rocky would become a cherished family pet, bringing joy and unexpected companionship into their lives. In the preparation of the year2000 there were rumors of human evolution. The evolution I observed are stories like this. The wild animals come to “good humans” for help.

I raised orphaned raccoons when I was a teenager and we had a couple as long-term pets. They are so very special. Thanks for sharing the story!!

This story begs to be turned into a comic book

You know it is a very fine line between a "wild" racoon and a "tame" racoon. I knew a guy that had one when I was a kid. He raised it from a kit. It grew up and his Mom made him keep it out in the barn. He soon began wondering around at night and finally quit coming home. Every now and then he would show up at the back door. Beg a meal and then take off for the wild.

Back when were were kids my sister and I were hiking in the woods behind our house when we discovered a baby racoon trapped in between two large rocks. We got it out and took it to the vet to see if we could get it vaccinated and keep it? It became our family pet for many years. All the neighbors would walk their dogs so we got a leash and harness and would take our racoon (who we named "Freddie") out for a walk too. People were always interested in seeing our unusual family pet. She was very affectionate and playful. Best pet we ever had!

What a little treasure! I am so happy these folks took care of the little guy and kept it as family. I would have done the same in less than a heart beat!

These stories are cute but people need to know that owning raccoons is illegal or restricted in many places, and the risk of rabies is very high with these critters.  https://raccoonrapport.com/unlocking-the-legality-of-raccoon-ownership-navigating-pet-ownership-laws

What a beautiful story! I am very pleased that this family took great care of this adorable raccoon and kept it as a family. And this adorable raccoon is living it’s very best life! In fact, this wonderful story should be turned into a children’s book!
