LeBron James had an absent father, no college education, and very few role models. At the age of 18, as a young poor black kid, he was handed $420,000 per week to play basketball 🏀 and become the face of the $75 billion NBA! He married his high school sweetheart Savannah, was never arrested, has no history of drug use, never humiliated his wife publicly with side chick stories or any outside babies. We’ve NEVER heard about him in the news accused of any criminal allegations. He’s been an excellent that’s heavily involved with his 3 kid's activities. It is now over 20 years later and with all his success…he’s the same dude, with more maturity, still with the same woman, and a beautiful family. His reputation remains intact. As billionaire earning over $2 million per week he has sent 2300 at risk kids from his hometown to college fully payed for. Perhaps it’s time to use his exceptional career and example for a course study in college. He will finish his historic NBA career by playing on the same team as his son. History in the making!

I introduced my Son to Aviation at age 9 by taking him to our downtown airport on Sunday afternoons where we would rent a Cessna with a pilot and take flight. Once in the air the pilot would give him the controls. He later took formal flight lessons and soloed at 16 before he had a Driver's License. Off to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona Beach and fast forward to today as he's been 10 years with a major US Airline as First Officer flying internationally across the Atlantic and seeing the world 🌎. This is what Parents Do.....it's called "Exposure" to a variety of opportunities and potential career choices and at some point the student (your chid) will show you their true passion.

As I read these comments, it is very upsetting and disturbing. We are talking about a person, let’s take color out of this, that has influence to help his child in life and we are mad? Let’s look at history, so many have gotten jobs, advantages and benefits from who they know not based on qualifications, education or experience. This is life as we know it, stop with all the BS.

Rashawn Copeland, I disagree. Gen-X here. I always saw LeBron James as a pretender among the NBA elite. He has managed to break records due to longevity, but how many years was he actually the best player in the National Basketball Association (NBA)? We had the Jordan era, then the Kobe era, but during LeBron's career arc would you really say he was better than Kevin Durant or Steph Curry? As someone who lived through the Jordan era, LeBron James is nowhere near as dominant a player and not even close to the galvanizing force that Michael Jordan was. Padding stats and enriching himself with endorsement deals doesn't make one great. He's not the guy and never was. 😏

So many millions of men get up every day and do the same. We don’t ask for accolades or affirmation. We just do it. Millions of women too. The problem is we hold athletes and other celebrities to far lower standards and when they exceed them we’re amazed. Congratulations LeBron, you’re just like the rest of us albeit with more money.

I'm all about character and being a good person, but what does that have to do with basketball? Lots of good dads out there, are you attempting to support his son getting into the NBA on his dad's ask because Lebron "is a good guy"? Lakers won't play Bronny much, and if they do, he'll only be embarrassed and humiliated. The NBA is a very different level than D1 college, and we all know how well Bronny did in his college day(s). Anyway, not sure of the underlying intent of this message, but Lebron is a good guy, that's great.

What a Class Act. When BLM was moving it’s way through the country I worked with a racist. After Floyd’s family was awarded a wrongful death suit he said: “Can you believe that? Remember the day when killing a Black man would only cost you a nickel.” I instantly forgave him. That’s what Jesus, Ghandi, MLK, and Anthony Thompson would do. I asked him what caused him to think so poorly of Black people. “Be curious, not furious.” He told me about not getting into College because of Affirmative Action. I listened and empathized. But, then I asked: You are a good guy, but do you honestly feel that you are superior to LeBron James because you are White? He had no answer. He was genuinely sorry. I shed a tear on my way out of work that day. My boss asked why I was not my usual happy self. I told him, my friend was reprimanded. I fought for his job and won. He’s still there. I chose to leave that same week, a former boss just happened to create a promotion for me (completely unaware of the incident) and I took it. Workplace retaliation had become unbearable, nobody would speak to me, they thought I tried to get my friend fired. But, I had no need to defend myself. You see, I was above it all. That’s LB …

Agreed, & on a side note, people's comments are so telling of their character.

There is no question he is and great father, husband and a huge help to people of his community. That doesn't change the fact that he forced the Lakers to draft Bronny, and I am sure Bronny didn't think up on his own that I will only play for the Lakers or I'll go down under and play. There is no doubt that other big-name players don't want to play with him. I am not sating Bronny doesn't work hard or deserve a shot , but that doesn't change the fact this does nothing more than make him Lebron's kid instead of Bronny James, especially if it doesn't work out.
