Two weeks ago I, and Dee S., our Director of Communications here at Plume Clinic joined Advocates for Trans Equality along with many other TGNC folks and allies from around the nation to meet with lawmakers and staff on Capitol Hill to advocate for the Transgender Bill of Rights and several other pieces of legislation that would help protect and advance rights for trans, nonbinary and gender nonconforming folks across our country. Equal access to healthcare, housing, employment, education -- and being safe -- are fundamental rights we should all enjoy. We're grateful for the time given to us as constituents by elected officials and staff on both sides of the aisle, as well as Melanie Fontes Rainer the Director of the Office of Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). A huge thanks to A4TE for organizing this effort -- so inspiring to hear from trans elders who have paved the way and amazing to see this many TGNC folks on Capitol Hill!
Thank you for your inspiring advocacy efforts in defending the fundamental rights of the transgender community. Your commitment to equality is truly commendable.
Incredible work. Advocacy like this truly makes a difference. Congrats to you and Dee S. for leading the charge for equality and inspiring us all
Equal rights for all are essential, and your efforts are making a meaningful impact.
Hi! Such an inspiration-- let us know if your team needs help finding quality physicians and advanced practitioners that are advocates for Transgender Care. We'd be honored to partner with your team.
Inspiring advocacy! Kudos for championing equality and fundamental rights. 👏

3wGrateful to have had the opportunity to visit Capitol Hill with you Jerrica Kirkley, MD and advocate for quite frankly what I see as fundamental rights. It made me realize that we need more voices - we need allies at companies, in academia and government who recognize the importance of equity for all. The erosion of rights for some is a slippery slope (Where does that end? Who gets to decide?) that should concern us all.
