Well, what a day! My penultimate event as programme manager for the South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster and last before our summer break! It was truly a privilege to tick off my ambition to host a #UAS (predominantly) focused event! I was truly humbled by the number of enthusiastic attendees (160+) who supported the event, clearly representing the passion and interest that exists for this technology here in the UK! 🇬🇧 Thanks for your valuable questions, entertaining my strict rules of engagement when networking and putting up with my loudspeaker 📢🤣 I’m proud of our aviation heritage and even more proud of our existing capability and keen to do what ever I can to help it prosper! Thanks to the 17 exhibitors who got up early to set up their stands and showcase their amazing tech! Thanks to all the speakers who provided immense value to the attendees, sharing their knowledge and opportunities for everyone to take away and contemplate how best to capture! Thanks to South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster, Thales Defense & Security, Inc. and Paul Gosling for giving me the opportunity to fulfil this ambition! Thanks to Victoria Glennon, Elaine Plested, Neil Skelland, Isabel Farquharson-Howell, Joanna Rufus for helping deliver a slick event which a commercial events company would be proud of! Finally, thanks to Dorset County Council and BattleLab for hosting and sponsoring the event!

Had a busy day prepping the conference room, hanger and workspaces for tomorrows networking and exhibition event at the BattleLab! Many thanks to ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK for providing their two fantastic volunteers, Victoria Glennon and Elaine Plested for their amazing work in executing the logistics and admin. Been sat in the BattleLab today, putting the finishing touches to the South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster event due to be held this Thursday in the same location! A couple of things to note for those attending: 1. BRING PHOTO ID! You will not get onto site without it! 2. The lift won’t be working so the venue is unable to accommodate anyone who needs it, which we’re really sorry to say! 3. The event is FULL so bring lots of business cards 📇 and expect to do some standing 🧍♀️ I’m looking forward to catching up with old industry friends, meeting new people and hearing from our amazing list of speakers to learn more about what opportunities exist! As well as looking at all the cool kit our sovereign manufacturers produce!!! 🎉🥳🍾🎁🎈🎊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇦

DJI set to disrupt yet another industry, this time its rather off-piste relative to their traditional market/s, though it makes a lot of sense given this tech is essentially dual use for them! And the Mountain Bike industry better watch out as we all know how good DJI are at bringing better tech to the market at an industry cripilingly price! But are we going to see the same concerns around security and privacy with their bike tech!? Are we going to worry about where our extreme sport enthusiasts are going to be cycling!? Fun times ahead and as a MTB’r myself, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy into their eco system, it looks like a game changer! https://lnkd.in/eiyHbqgc
