ESPN BET has debuted a new playoff-focused commercial spot featuring ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.  In ‘Pool Hall,’ Smith is in his element, debating the importance of closing out a playoff series while making his own rules to close out a billiards match. The spot plays into ESPN BET’s larger campaign theme of how fan-driven sports narratives create engaging betting moments.  “Featuring such a recognizable talent in Stephen A., who is at the epicenter of the daily sports conversation, further strengthens the connection between media and betting with the ESPN and ESPN BET brands,” said Jennifer Weissman, Chief Marketing Officer, PENN Entertainment.

NEWS: Today, PENN and the PGA of America announced a multiyear partnership that designates ESPN BET as the Official Sports Betting Sponsor of the PGA Championship through 2026. With this agreement, the PGA Championship becomes the first men’s golf major to establish an official sports betting sponsor. The 2024 PGA Championship, taking place at Valhalla Golf Club from May 16-19, will feature the ESPN BET Members Lounge, a premium hospitality space offering views of Valhalla's newly renovated signature 13th green. In addition to onsite activations, ESPN BET will also be integrated into broadcasts on ESPN networks, with betting odds and insights provided to enhance storytelling within the Championship. Introducing the first retail ESPN BET sportsbook! Today, PENN Entertainment, in partnership with ESPN, unveiled its first ESPN BET brick-and-mortar sportsbook, at Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Downtown Detroit. The newly-branded sportsbook and restaurant offers guests approximately 4,500 square-feet of betting and dining space, with high-tech wagering kiosks, big-screen TVs, and a 30’ video wall for the ultimate sports viewing experience. With the NFL Draft taking place less than a mile from the property this week, Hollywood Casino at Greektown is hosting a variety of ESPN programming, including the First Draft podcast with Field Yates, Domonique Foxworth, Mina Kimes, and Matt Miller on Wednesday night. On Thursday and Friday, ESPN Radio will broadcast the Unsportsmanlike morning show with Evan Cohen, Chris Canty, and Michelle Smallmon, and the Greeny Show.     Additionally, ESPN BET Live, the daily sports betting show on ESPN2, will be live from the ESPN BET sportsbook on Thursday and Friday.
