What TRIGGERS World War III? One amazing element is forming before our eyes. The study and teaching of prophecy aren’t supposed to be an intellectual pursuit of their own. The point isn’t to memorize all the seals and bowls and trumpets in the book of Revelation…. set dates and times regarding the Rapture…. or get into pointless and contentious arguments over the timing and sequence of End Times events. Rather, God gave us prophecy to motivate and mobilize the Church to live lives of holiness….and preach the Gospel to all nations before He comes…and make disciples of all nations before He returns. The PROPHETIC center of the Universe is in the Middle East! Is that important to prophetic world events? Scriptural thought for today Is World War Inevitable? *Does the Bible say anything about the international instability that we are seeing today? With lands like Israel, Iran, Saudi, Yemen, China, Russia, Ukraine and China all having localized wars that are increasing in size, brutality and devastation with many more smaller wars all over the world…. Will or could it lead to world war? *The Bible did not foretell any ‘specific’ war that we are seeing today. However, it did foretell the rampant warfare that is marking our time and is taking “peace away from the earth.” (Re 6:4) *The book of Daniel foretold that “in the time of the end,” competing world powers would engage in a “pushing,” or struggle for dominance. That struggle would involve projecting great military power and spending vast “treasures,” or financial resources (Da 11:40, 42, 43) *The Bible indicates though that the world situation will get worse before it gets better. Jesus foretold that “there [would] be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning” (Mt 24:21) and that “great tribulation” will culminate in a war called Armageddon which is described as “the war of the great day of God the Almighty” Re 16:14, 16) but this war will usher in worldwide peace and stability – https://lnkd.in/dM36KF-F

War, the eternal theme of human history, is accompanied by countless sufferings and sacrifices in every outbreak. It is like a distorted mirror, reflecting the light and darkness of human nature. In the war, some people are brave and fearless, sacrificing their lives and forgetting their own; there are also people who are treacherous and will do anything for their own self-interest. And what is the 'way to become a devil'? Is it the temptation of power, or is it the distortion of the heart? Under the pressure and circumstances of war, some people may choose to go to the extreme, sacrificing everything, including their own conscience and humanity, for the so-called 'victory'. They gradually get lost in the game of power and become real “demons”. However, the real warriors and heroes know that war is not the goal, and peace is the ultimate pursuit of mankind. They are willing to fight for peace and sacrifice for justice. Although their path is full of thorns, their hearts are always full of light. #War #Peace

In 1434, during the Hussite Wars, the Battle of Lipany, also called the Battle of Český Brod, unfolded as a significant event. By this time, the Hussite movement had divided into factions with distinct ideologies. The moderate Hussites, aiming for reforms within the church, joined forces with the Catholic forces against the more radical Taborites. The battle saw these alliances play out on the battlefield. The moderate Hussites and Catholics formed an unexpected partnership to counter the Taborite threat. The result was a victory for the moderate Hussite-Catholic alliance, leading to the defeat of the Taborites. The Battle of Lipany is notable for illustrating the complexity of ideological divisions and shifting alliances during times of conflict. It highlights how wartime circumstances can lead to unlikely partnerships based on shared goals, even among groups that were previously adversaries. This battle marked a turning point in the Hussite Wars, impacting the trajectory of the conflict and showcasing the intricate dynamics of the era. It serves as a reminder that historical events are shaped by multifaceted factors, including ideology, strategy, and the ever-changing alliances that define the course of war. The Battle of Lipany is a window into the complexities of the Hussite Wars and their profound influence on the historical landscape of Central Europe. #mylineage #armour #ancienthistory #militaryhistory #medievalist #medievalhistory #medievaltimes #medieval #heraldry #middleages #armor #medievalworld #medievalchivalry #jerusalem #warriorhistory #saladin #thecrusades #medievalknight #medievalarmor #knighthood #crusades #templarios #knightstemplar #templar #cruzadas #europeanhistory #MilitaryHistory #HussiteWars #JanHus #bohemia https://lnkd.in/g62pu99U

Interesting parental moment: when your 16 year old son enjoys discussing the differences between the Pyrrhic War, Peloponnesian War, and Punic Wars and knows way more than you do. Impressed, but good luck finding anyone else who cares . . . . ⚔ Pyrrhic War: The Pyrrhic War (280–275 BC) was largely fought between the Roman Republic and Pyrrhus, the king of Epirus, who had been asked by the people of the Greek city of Tarentum in southern Italy to help them in their war against the Romans. Peloponnesian War: The Peloponnesian War (Ancient Greek: Πόλεμος τῶν Πελοποννησίων, romanized: Pólemos tō̃n Peloponnēsíōn) (431–404 BC) was an ancient Greek war fought between Athens and Sparta and their respective allies for the hegemony of the Greek world. The war remained undecided for a long time, until the decisive intervention of the Persian Empire in support of Sparta. Punic Wars: The Punic Wars were a series of wars between 264 and 146 BC fought between Rome and Carthage. Three conflicts between these states took place on both land and sea across the western Mediterranean region and involved a total of forty-three years of warfare. The Punic Wars are also considered to include the four-year-long revolt against Carthage which started in 241 BC. I know, TMI. Have a great day!

YHWH above all. ✝️ VP @ BOSS Magazine | Driving Thought Leadership & Industry Transformation in Manufacturing
Today, we reflect on the profound words τετέλεσται ("It is finished") spoken by Jesus Christ on the cross. This statement goes beyond mere completion; it signifies victory and fulfillment in various contexts: - **Financial Context:** In ancient times, τετέλεσται marked debts & receipts as "paid in full," ensuring financial obligations were completely settled. - **Judicial Context:** Similarly, the term was used in legal settings to signify the completion of punishment for crimes, similar to a modern-day "sentence served" notice. - **Military Context:** In military history, τετέλεσται was shouted to declare full and final victory over enemies, signifying the successful overcoming of the opponent. In the ultimate sense, Jesus' declaration on the cross encapsulates these meanings: the debt of sin paid in full, justice served, and the ultimate triumph over darkness. Let's find inspiration in this message of redemption and victory for our own journeys. #Inspiration #Leadership #Faith #Resilience #Victory #Redemption #HistoricalContext #PersonalGrowth

Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Roman, orator, philosopher, and a few other things... He was an imperfect person, as any student of history will tell you. However, if we are generous with our interpretation of events, we can credit him with tempering one of Rome's most terrible rulers, Nero. Seneca was many things. The amateur philosopher in me remembers the last years of his life when he was a devout stoic. The historian in me remembers him as one of two men who halfway contained Nero's violence for as long as they could. History aside, he wrote a series of letters to another Roman. Today they are captured in a text titled Letters from a Stoic. Exactly the plain language, borderline Laconinc description you would expect from someone like him. In the book he addresses his fellow Roman and pupil, providing advice on numerous subjects. One such subject is that of self-improvement. Seneca asks the following to measure the success of his life. "What progress have I made? I am beginning to be a friend to myself." It may seem like a small thing. I believe it is a tremendous accomplishment.
