What might be small conveniences for some are critical tools for independence for others. By 2035 it is projected that there will be more adults over 65 than children under 5. Additionally, the World Health Organization estimates that one in six people are living with a disability. On November 13, 2024, the 2nd Annual OPEN MINDS Smart Home Technology Expo will highlight innovative smart home technologies – both general and specialized – used today by health and human service agencies to support independence in community-based living.
