If you keep interviewing GREAT people But can’t make any job offers because their salary expectations are HIGHER than anyone else in your team Perhaps it’s time to give your current team a PAY RISE!!! Because it pretty clear that you’re paying BELOW market rate And if you continue doing so, Your team probably won’t stick around for long 🤷♂️ If you want someone with XYZ skills and experience You need to be competitive with your COMPENSATION And no amount of “great culture and free coffee” is going to cut it I’m afraid If you can’t afford to do this, then perhaps you need to adjust YOUR expectations 😬 #recruitment #recruiterlife #telecoms
Amen to this! Pay your team the market rate, not what you think they were worth 10 years ago 🙈
I totally agree! Be realistic with your expectations...... If you are paying under market rate, be ready to lose your current employees when the market starts shifting!
Rather than finding new staff at higher salaries, give your existing team a pay rise...
"Time to align compensation with talent value. Fair pay matters!"
Businesses lose fabulous employees by paying them less than their competitors. Yet, they pay a fortune on Recruitment to replace their fabulous employees when they leave for more money🙈
Wish all employers paid attention to this......
You should always listen to the signs! 🙌

2moGenerally agree BUT consider that the person applying may well be an outlier (I do note that you are talking multiple people in your post, thus they are probably not paying market rate). Saw a couple of people a while back who had been recruited when TA and recruiter salaries had been through the roof, market settled, redundancies and a flood of these folk on the market still looking for the same salary which was below what was being offered but was the current market rate. It is tricky as you could end up paying existing staff over the market when there is no need. Just my observation.
