Do you know teachers and school personnel can be considered as kinship homes for youth in foster care? Because you have a pre-existing relationship, you may be considered for a youth at your school who is needing a foster home. Additionally, in many states, you can become foster licensed to receive funds to support the youth in your care. Educators have the skills and qualities needed to be successful foster parents. Many foster parent trainings may also qualify for continuing education requirements. NYAP conducts convenient foster parent trainings and will meet your unique scheduling needs. We are currently licensing foster homes in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, West Virginia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Texas, Colorado, and Nevada. PRIDE is an annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, promoting respect, inclusion, and dignity for all. In a youth and family care organization like NYAP, celebrating PRIDE is important because it sends a powerful message of acceptance, love, and support to LGBTQ+ youth. It creates a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive and be proud of who they are. By celebrating PRIDE, NYAP fosters a sense of belonging, alleviates feelings of isolation, and builds a strong support network. It also educates team members and youth about LGBTQ+ issues, ensuring culturally competent care and promoting understanding and empathy.
