Perfect noyb.eu & Max Schrems! Then we at Verbraucherzentrale NRW are curious to see whether Meta will also guarantee this in a cease-and-desist declaration after our warning. That would be consistent, wouldn't it Christine Steffen Dr. Ayten Öksüz Hauke Mormann?

“Meta has every option to roll out AI based on valid consent - it just chooses not to do so." Why!?! It’s not that they lack $$$ or motivation. Beyond consent, Meta uses more than just collected personal data in its models (as does everyone), and I can’t imagine how they can get consent/compliance on those external datasets. To be compliant Meta will have to rebuild each and everyone of their externally facing EU/EEA models from scratch and (re)train them on clean, compliant, and governed datasets. That is a very tall order even for Meta given the outdated data technologies available today. Imho, this news is a harbinger of more such realizations from companies about the use of compliant AI. I expect many companies to realize the existing state of (re)training data will take tremendous effort to be cleaned and made compliant.

The notice I received said that Meta was already using my data to train its AI and would only consider any objection and, 'if honoured' cease collecting/processing, going forward - so no apparent ability for me to exercise the 'right to be forgotten'. It doesn't matter that EEA/UK users don't get access to their AI when others in the world may do so. That makes it important to cease processing and delete the data already collected for this purpose.

Pls be mindful how you frase it, META has utilised AI incl OBJECT RECOGNITION AND FACIAL RECOGNITION & EMOTION RECOGNITION FOREVER, and has allowed partners to train generativeAI on ie. Facebook for a LONG time!
