A busy day at the Shields Ferry as the crew had to deal with a lobster pot that was snagged in the propellers. Thanks to the diving experts at Sealane Inshore for their assistance today. Their divers inspected the issue and removed the obstruction from the propulsion unit. The Voith propeller provides propulsion to the Ferry and a safety critical system to allowing the vessel to safely operate. During an early morning crossing, the Voith unit became entangled with a discarded fishing pot which was required to be moved prior to the vessel passing its pre-sailing safety checks.
