Helping our colleagues to stay healthy is an important part of our role as a responsible employer - so at our Middleton and Arbeta sites in Manchester, UK, we recently held a 'Know Your Numbers' event. This event was aimed at helping our employees better understand important health measurements such as blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and body weight - looking at ways to understand and keep track of these figures to stay fit and well. Sometimes it's the simple changes that have the biggest impact. Just like at our bottles' warehouse in Bagnatica, Italy which had been getting a little crowded and needed to be re-organised. 🧴 Alessio D'Alessio and Marco Zerre to the rescue! 🦸 To optimise the space in the warehouse, it was decided to limit aisle sizes, which are now clearly marked to provide enough space between each pallet to prevent potential hazards. This simple improvement has made a huge difference and allows us to maximise space, have a clear view of our inventory, and, most importantly, work safely! Happy Plastic Free July! Plastic Free July is a global movement that highlights the steps we can take to reduce plastic pollution, so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and communities. At McBride, we are working hard not only to ensure our packaging is fully recyclable but also to reduce the percentage of virgin plastic we use. To predict the behaviour of bottles, in the design phase we use Finite Element Analysis, which allows the team to optimise the weight of the plastic used per pack and assess the performance of the increasing recycled content. These digital simulation tools contribute to the optimised eco-design of new packaging and have allowed us to use up to 60% recycled content for all of our PET plastic packaging by weight. #PlasticFreeJuly #PETPlastic #FiniteElementAnalysis https://lnkd.in/f6rJSUr

As we continue on our transformation journey, Stephen Hazell, our Programme Director, Beth Gillard, our Business Architect and June Lynch, our Data Lead visited India recently to spend time with the local NTT team – our systems’ integrators that are helping us to implement our new SAP S/4HANA ERP system across the business. We continued to build key relationships while spending valuable time with the teams from Germany, the UK and India; helping strengthen our ties further. Exciting developments during our time in India included: 👍 Establishing clear terms of reference to ensure clarity in our ongoing engagement 👍 Discussions around robust data exchange for extract/transform/load (ETL) capability 👍 Finalising a framework to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in our test stages The developments mark the significant progress in our collaboration with NTT, paving the way for exciting future endeavours! We recently gathered our sales and marketing teams for the first commercial conference since 2017. During the conference, the team reflected on achievements in previous years, analysed the strengths and weaknesses in our approach, and shared our plans for the future and how to further grow with our customers. There was a specific focus on showcasing our commercial excellence initiative, which is a strong pillar of our transformation program. Our site in Sallent, Spain, recently held an Ergonomic Exercises and Stretches session as part of our wellbeing and engagement plan. 🧘 The 20-minute session aims to educate employees on the importance of stretching and exercise for physical well-being, stress reduction, and increased energy levels. At McBride, we provide a designated space at the Sallent site for these exercises, free of charge, to encourage the team to prioritise their physical health without the added cost of external gym memberships and travel.🤸 We hope to implement this initiative across all our sites soon! #ErgonomicExercises #SallentSpain #HealthandWellBeing

Our Manchester site is organising a McBride charity hike, taking on the Edale Skyline Challenge. 🏔️ The Edale Skyline challenge is the ultimate long-distance hike in the Peak District, featuring a 20+ mile looped walk over 4000ft of ascent along the ridge of Edale, starting and ending in the village of Hope. 🚶 In line with McBride's corporate charitable goals this year, one of which is poverty and basic living needs, we have decided to support the local charity Wood Street Mission, a children's charity helping children and families living on a low-income in Manchester and Salford.💚 We are not only opening this challenge to those who want to ascend the Peak District's lengthy mission, but we also welcome volunteers to provide support to those walking.
