☀️ Empowering Renewable Energy in Ghana ☀️ We are thrilled to share our role in the AfricaEnergyParks project, recently launched with the support of the European Commission. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance energy access and climate resilience in rural communities, starting with a new Renewable Energy Park (REEP) near Mole National Park, Ghana. This project supports the ongoing development of our gasifier technology, improving its efficiency and adaptability for various applications. Our advanced gasifier technology converts biomass into gas, which powers a generator to produce electricity. The gasifier also creates biochar, which can be used as a soil amendment. For this project, the gasifier unit will provide a stable baseload energy supply, complementing solar power to ensure continuous and reliable green energy for the community. We are proud to be part of this innovative project, working alongside partners to make a significant impact on sustainable development and climate resilience in Africa. #MASHMakes #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #ClimateResilience #Ghana #GreenEnergy #AfricaEnergyParks
🚀 Kick-off of the AfricaEnergyParks Project! 🚀 After the official launch of the AfricaEnergyParks project, funded by the European Commission, our journey kicked off with a successful virtual meeting on June 27-28, 2024. The meeting was hosted by Aarhus University, our project coordinator, alongside our 11 dedicated partners: Ener-G-Africa, DENG Limited, MASH Makes, Africa GreenTec, Ghana Forestry Commission, Partners in Participatory Development (PAPADEV), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Danish Technological Institute, INOVA+, Ministry of Energy of Ghana, Hormeku-Massis Enterprise Over the next four years, we will be establishing a Renewable Energy Park near Mole National Park, Ghana. This innovative project aims to: 🔋 Harness solar energy and convert agricultural waste into sustainable energy. 🔥 Introduce clean cookstoves for healthier cooking. 🌿 Protect wildlife and combat deforestation. 🌍 Create a scalable model for other regions. Join us on this journey towards sustainable development and climate resilience in Africa! #AfricaEnergyParks #RenewableEnergy #SustainableDevelopment #ClimateResilience #CleanCooking #CircularEconomy #EnergyAccess #ProtectBiodiversity #InnovationForGood #HorizonEurope #EuropeanCommission #Ghana

Our partners at Supercritical have launched a world-first in carbon removal: a multi-pathway marketplace with live pricing and availability data for 80% of the biochar market — and we're proud to be one of the first projects listed in the marketplace! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dFVBnxyX Biochar is the most accessible and scalable permanent CDR pathway available and it’s ready to be scaled today. However, as with carbon removal generally, two major hurdles are holding buyers back: ● Lack of clarity around availability and pricing ● Concerns about credit quality Supercritical's marketplace will transform how buyers purchase carbon removal, offering a single place where buyers can: 1. Navigate the CDR market with ease 2. Access live data to make informed decisions 3. Purchase high-quality credits, including those from MASH Makes, that will have real climate impact We're honoured to be at the forefront of this industry transformation, playing our part in accelerating effective climate action. #biochar #MashMakes #CarbonRemoval #CarbonCredits #CDR

🌾 Our latest research in India showed that adding biochar to red clay soil increased its water-holding capacity by 30%, confirming biochar's potential to improve soil properties. For detailed results and technical insights, check the link in the comments. 📊 We're dedicated to finding where biochar offers the greatest benefits to support agricultural communities effectively. While these findings are promising, they highlight that biochar's impact varies by soil type. For example, sandy soils see a more significant increase in water retention compared to clay soils. However, biochar’s other benefits, like reduced bulk density and enhanced microbial growth, have yet to be found to differ across soil types. Farmers in Ambajogai, India, are already experiencing these benefits. By applying MASH Makes biochar with organic fertilizer, they've achieved higher crop yields even during droughts. 🌾🌞 This combination has proven effective across multiple seasons, underscoring biochar's versatility and value. #Agriculture #Biochar #Sustainability #Research #SoilHealth #MASHMakes
