Today I joined colleagues in from The Kresge Foundation BUFFETT EARLY CHILDHOOD FUND W.K. Kellogg Foundation and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation at the U.S. Chamber Foundation's National Child Care Innovation Summit to talk about the ways that the philanthropic sector is collaborating to address the child care crisis. We also announced a new coordinated effort to strengthen local child care systems and increase access to high-quality, affordable child care in communities that house America’s growing infrastructure workforce. This may already exist, but... Expand Early Childhood Development with certification workshops for individuals providing in-home care (babysitter, nanny) . An emphasis on the importance of quality interaction with the child . Hats off to the parents hiring sitters to focus on their child while they are working at home. Thank you for sharing. Not sure if I am seeing everyone but there needs to be more men involved. Childcare is not just a woman’s issue. Just as we need more resources in women’s health we need to support these collaborative efforts focused on children. We are all in this together.
