If you're ever pitching against more than 2 other agencies, you don't control your sales process. If I was told I was pitching and there were more than 3 agencies competing, I'd politely decline. If I knew I could bring real value, I'd spend that pitch period reaching out to their competitors. And I'd be sitting in front of at least one them before the pitch process was over. All while the other agencies were eating time, cutting prices and begging for work that they are odds on not to win. If more than 50% of your new business leads come from brands asking you to pitch in 'competitive' pitches, you're in for some peaks and troughs over the next 2 years!
