Honored to have worked with The World Bank to help Malawi secure $6.5 million of funding to enable beneficial ownership reform. This will help increase transparency, combat corruption, and accelerate economic development. Philanthropy in partnership with the World Bank can amplify #systemschange solutions to improve the lives of people around the world. Thanks to Roby Senderowitsch, Stephen Davenport, Alexandra Habershon, and Lara Saade for your partnership to make this happen. Nice one! Great to see this moving and feeling happy to have played a small part in it, together with Andrew Bowden and the TSOC Basel Institute on Governance team that supported Malawian leadership in the Registrar General and Financial Intelligence Authority to get the ball rolling early on.
Congratulations on this great accomplishment and demonstrating the powerful role that partnerships can play to drive change
We appreciate our partnership and collaboration with you very much!!
Congratulations. This is an important step forward towards sustainable reforms.
Great news.
Congratulations Leslie Tsai!! This is a big move forward!
Congratulations Leslie Tsai! Amazing accomplishment!
Great news! A decade ago, those of us (including me, Elyvin Nkhonjera, and Chisomo Manthalu) who sat on Malawi's first multi-stakeholder group for the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative), along with a supportive National Secretariat and backing of the Natural Resources Justice Network, ensured public beneficial ownership disclosure ambitions were in Malawi's first work plan of 2015 - before it was required. We hoped this would pave the way for a whole-of-government approach, and it has!
