Already known far-and-wide for the Reaper level hot sauce that for dramatic effect requires customers sign a waiver once ordering, Dave's Hot Chicken is in position to score another touchdown with its Dave’s Not Chicken hand-cut cauliflower menu! Available as a slider, tender, or handful of bites, the cruciferous chicken substitute is most importantly available in all seven spice levels from no spice to the trademark Reaper. Originally tested in a few Oregon locations last summer, the plant based lineup garnered enough acclaim to release nationwide earlier this year just in time for the biggest all-things-chicken consumption phenomenon of the year.
“For years, our fans have been asking us to make a meatless option that has all the flavor, crunch and spice as our Hot Chicken,” Bill Phelps, CEO of Dave’s Hot Chicken, said in a release. “After spending weeks in the test kitchen, just like the founders did back in the parking lot days, testing countless different products, we think we’ve created something vegetarian that’s so good, even our most dedicated Hot Chicken loyalists will crave it.”
Last year’s Super Bowl was watched by over 115 million viewers, an all-time record losing only to the Apollo Moon Landing in 1969. This year with “In My Chiefs Era” parties being planned and those potentially watching a Super Bowl for the first time, this Sunday is bound to attract the most unique audience yet. “Super Bowl fans represent a cross-section of society and it may surprise some to know how many will be opting for delicious and compassionate alternatives to animal-sourced foods,” said Ben Williamson, US Executive Director, Compassion in World Farming.
