#Commerical wireless coverage supports #NDAA 2024 direction on #5G builds and will be essential for rapid provisioning of 5G while maintaining security for United States Department of Defense bases. Licensed #spectrum is reliable and should be the foundation for Private Cellular Networks #PCN. AT&T uses #MOCN today and this licensed #spectrum provides a reliable foundation for PCNs that cannot be matched by CBRS.   FirstNet® built by AT&T uses MOCN and is a great example of a successful public-private partnership to rapidly deliver the only nationwide network built with and for America’s first responders. Naval Base Coronado also uses AT&T licensed #spectrum and is another example of a successful MOCN implementation. Coronado also has proven that a commercial PCN can obtain IATT, and ATO is imminent. It is the only DoD 5G prototype to achieve this milestone. In addition, there are other options to meet DoD’s protection needs like Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), a great alternative for low latency applications. All at a lower cost versus building disparate standalone solutions. At the end of the day, it will take an experienced #network carrier to tie it all together. AT&T has the experience deliverng FirstNet, America's Public Safety Broadband Network, and building mission critical secure PCN networks with advanced roaming solutions that keep DoD traffic private.    AT&T is proud to be part of the #WholeofNation and a #DoD Mission Partner.

Lance Spencer Outstanding interpretation of the 5G related language in NDAA 2024. Was just discussing some of these current and future requirements for more agile and mobile-enabling network designs and RAN-sharing/MOCN-capable EM&C capabilities in/around DoD bases/stations -- yesterday with your team out here. Some of the tricky part occurs when you postulate fully military-hardened/secured private implementations for more sensitive mission work. This ain't simply a cash-and-carry commercial utility; will require partnered design at some level. Mike Boutet Rae Uyehara Noel Howard

NDAA 2023 requires that all military installations have 5G infrastructure located on the installation which sets up the conditions to accelerate and implement PCN solutions on military installations. NDAA 2024 link below. Page 424, Sec 1526 identifies the requirements. https://www.congress.gov/118/plaws/publ31/PLAW-118publ31.pdf

Lance, 5G smart warehouses are just one component of the overall supply chain. What are your thoughts on a global solution for asset tracking and supply chain management including IoT device roaming?
