This job has become a milestone in my career with Timberlab/Swinerton and I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Bhushan Nankar (Shawn) and the field team led by Jose Rodriguez! This project consists of four buildings consecutively built using Pre-fabricated Light Framed Wall Panels (Pacific Wall Systems, Inc.) Four mass timber buildings are rising among the redwoods for University of California, Santa Cruz's Kresge College Renewal! Three five-story residence halls and a curvilinear academic building will serve a growing student population. Design upholds the experimental merging of academic/social/environmental space behind Kresge's founding. Through Design-Build delivery, Holmes is providing fire and structural engineering for the mass timber components.
