This week marks 1-Year living in North Carolina or as you'll see on many bumpers driving around, "Cackalacky." As I prepared to move, I was frequently asked if I would miss Texas and the answer was and still is, yes. Texas will always be my home state and where some of the people I love most live, but sometimes in order to grow, you have to move, and for me that was a 1500 mile drive over 3 days to my new state. Nowadays, I get asked what I love or even dislike about North Carolina and here are a few: 1. There ain't nothin like the southern hospitality here! 😉 2. Texas does BBQ better (sorry, not sorry!). I can't do the Carolina BBQ. 3. The trees, oh the trees! They are so beautiful that the allergies that come with them are worth all the extra Kleenex and daily Zyrtec. 🤧 🌲 4. There are songs written about the Texas sky, but everyday, I'm blessed with views like 👇and better...so it's a toss up. 5. The weather is beyond my favorite. I'm not a fan of the heat, but also not the cold, so NC has been the perfect fit for me.

It all starts from the top and our leaders make darn sure we’re happy and set for success. Could we ask for more? I think not. #boom 👊🏼🔥🥇

I missed my turn on my way home, so I took the next one and this was the view from the side of the road. Sometimes, God has a different plan than the one we had planned for ourselves, but He promises His plan will always be better than what we could have ever imagined. “If He cares so wonderfully for the wildflowers, He will certainly care for you.” (Matthew 6:30)

Where my wellness peeps be? You want to feel valued and rock at what you do? 

This past week my wonderful women’s Bible study group ended our winter study, “Encounters with Jesus.” It was perfect timing to remind us that #Jesus is the Son of God and when He rose again, He showed us that no matter what, He is always with us (Joshua 1:9).  Happy Easter! I pray all people choose to experience the miracle that is Jesus. 

Today is my first "Connervisary." I made that word up but what I can't make up is how incredible this first year at Conner Insurance has been. It was a ride to get here (literally) but I firmly believe landing here was all #Jesus. From my first phone call at a random Chick-fil-A parking lot where I learned the God honoring values of our company, to one epic plane ✈ ride to meet my team, to seeing that our leadership has a heart ❤️ bigger than Texas and most of all realizing that our mission to #pursueexcellence is the real deal. I am so proud to work alongside some of the kindest and smartest people I know, and who don't put limits on what we can do or learn to be better. In my opinion, we are the best at managing #employeebenefits and I cannot wait to see what Year-2 brings. 🙌 Thank you so much Laura Busick and Ben Conner for giving me a blessing of a lifetime and for all the ways you've helped me continue to grow. Thanks to Ricki Hancart, Diana Miller, MBA, CHVA, Health Rosetta Advisor, Stephanie Creech, Ryan Spencer, Todd Hufford, Annie Spencer, SPHR and the rest of our team for all the support and care this past year.
