Some Ideas => - if you are buying coffee, buy coffee for the person behind you in line. - put you phone away and look up, make eye contact and smile. If you are feeling bold today say “Good Morning” - send a few friends a message (text, call or DM) that you are thinking about them; choose friends you have not seen our talked to in awhile. “ Many in our world are suffering and are overwhelmed with fear, grief, sadness and hurt. They often carry the weight of all this in their Heart, their Voice and in how they treat themselves and each other. The Spiritual cup of people overcoming Trauma is often times empty and they need our help to fill it back up with Compassion, Love and Forgiveness. I am a huge fan of Gov. Wes Moore ! This decision is a wonderful example of using your position, power, and agency to correct an Historic inequity. Historically, the war on drugs was a war on most black and brown communities. Today we offer diversion opportunities that are appropriate for people struggling with addiction. I celebrate this change in approach. However, black and brown communities were never afforded this level of kindness and empathy. Instead, our Justice system (at that time) criminalized addiction instead of treating addiction. This decision by Governor Moore will help the healing to begin ==================================== Governor Wes Moore signs an historic executive order pardoning 175,000 convictions related to the possession of cannabis and certain convictions for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
