Last week, we celebrated our 3rd year at Coachella. Even though we aren’t an official festival sponsor, we’ve successfully made Coachella a tentpole brand engagement moment for 818 Spirits. This year, we brought our 818 Outpost Pop Up to life in the biggest and best way yet. As an alcohol brand, creating our own event was a risk (it’s much easier to sponsor other people’s events!) but we proved this year that we’ve earned the right to activate alongside lifestyle brands like Revolve, Celsius, and Nylon because we’ve created such an incredible community of 818 consumers. We also stand out from the pack by being one of the only Coachella parties that opens up GA invites to our social followers, because we know our consumers want to experience the magic alongside the amazing content creators. As my three year anniversary with 818 Spirits nears, I had the pleasure of speaking to Colin Daniels, M.A. about all the exciting stuff we’ve been up to (as well as my current pop culture obsessions; Las Culturistas and The Traitors, of course). This was my *first ever* podcast interview and Colin couldn’t have been easier or more fun to talk to! Thank you ADWEEK for the opportunity to wax rhapsodic about our 818 consumers, my amazing marketing team, and how much I love my job.

One of our key goals with 818 Spirits has always been showcasing the incredible versatility of Tequila to the next generation of consumers. Tequila isn't just for shots and margaritas (although 818 margs *are* delicious). Tequila is a beautifully crafted spirit that works well in a myriad of ways -- a substitute for vodka in an Espresso Martini, a substitute for bourbon or whiskey in your favorite classic cocktails, or paired with foods like chocolate, steak, and, yes, even pasta. We were so excited when an iconic 100+ year old brand, Rao's Specialty Foods, Inc., wanted to partner with us to tell this story -- just in time for Valentine's Day last week -- with our delicious Pasta Alla Tequila recipe hack. Thank you to Dora Wedner for leading the charge on this project, to our founder Kendall for making this come to life, and shout out to Jenny Brown Lauren Aguirre Lida Clapp Maria Fernanda Castro Abby Pickus Kevin Huynh for all their hard work.

Had an amazing time on the road with Kendall and the team last week meeting our 818 Spirits consumers (21+ of course) in college bars across the south. It was incredible to engage with our accounts, distributors, and fans in a new and special way. The energy we saw live on the ground was unparalleled, and we couldn't be more excited about 818's growth in popularity across the country. A huge shoutout to our College Tour Marketing & Sales Task Force, Lindsey Goldberg, Jordan Shoulberg, & Emily Housey, for bringing our second college tour to life. Next week, I am returning to 818 Spirits after four months of maternity leave. During this time, my husband and I welcomed our daughter Briar into the world and learned what it means to be parents (apparently lots of laughs but not a lot of sleep!). I am grateful to work for a company that — even with the small teams of a startup — prioritizes supporting female leadership and recognizes the vital importance of paid parental leave. It's so inspiring to be a part of a company that values its employees' well-being and understands how paid parental leave is crucial to closing the gender wage gap and supporting diversity in leadership. Though it is bittersweet, I am excited to return to work and kick off the exciting plans we have in store for 2024 at 818 Spirits. This incredibly important time would not have been possible without the forward-thinking leadership and support of Mike Novy, Lanay Jacobs, Michael Kives, Bryan Baum Logan Solomon, Kelsey Kershner, Larry Goodrich, and the incomparable Kendall Jenner. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing team. I also have to shout out my always-amazing marketing team for taking the reins while I was out - especially Jenny Brown, Lauren Aguirre and Kevin Huynh for stepping up as leaders for our team. I am excited to *officially* rejoin our marketing slack channels 😂. 2024 will be a year to remember.
