Do you blame me? Who could resist a cheeky little networking event, hosted by Carpmaels & Ransford, all the way in London!? Certainly not me XD Thank you to Vionard, Kyla and Oliver , for really making me feel welcome during the event and answering all my questions.

You really don’t know how grateful I am! Last week, I had the honour of being invited to Bloomberg’s first-ever Tech Lab in the UK! During the labs, I got the chance to speak to amazing mentors like 🔧Evgenii, Rhythm and Meshach, all working at Bloomberg. Together, we worked on building a portfolio manager application using Python and Jupyter Notebook, which gave me great insight into the services provided by Bloomberg. The event involved a lot of interview preparation and practice, which will help me pursue any career I put my mind towards. Thank you, Jacob, for the (well-needed) interview preparation sessions we have had! You have helped me improve my skills, allowing me to ace any interview I put my mind to. Most of all, the reason I now hold Bloomberg in such high esteem is the sense of community and a culture fostering volunteering. Massive thanks to Roseanna and Chevonne for showing me the importance of valuing a workplace that values me and people like me coming from under-represented backgrounds. A special thanks to Julio, Priscilla and Larissa for organising the event so well and always helping me out. It showed that you put months of planning into this event. I've been accepted to the 2023 Bloomberg Tech Lab: London This in-person conference at the @Bloomberglp London will help build my experience in python + jupyter notes. I can't believe how much I have grown and learned as a Software Engineer in the Well Placement Advisory Team here at SLB in Abingdon. Over the three months, I created a Unity code package which rendered 3D grid surfaces in scenes with other object entities. Working on my internship project, I learned new skills using C#, Unity, Angular and Docker. I solved problems in a fast-paced environment, which taught me resilience and how to work efficiently. Special thank you to Chris Lucas for making the whole experience possible (and letting me win at football haha!) Shout out to Milan Frank for being a fantastic manager throughout the entire experience and making me feel like a valued team member. Volunteering at Cosy Wednesdays has been my highlight of this month. I would definitely recommend it to anyone :)

I have been so blessed to be part of the Microsoft Embrace Mentoring Programme. At the virtual workshops, I was allowed to maximise my CV and LinkedIn profile, create a personal development plan and enhance my Interview skills. I had also been exposed to so many influential people, which has now encouraged me to give every day my 100%. Big shout out to Fardos Mohsin and Frances Trought for allowing me to be part of such a wonderful experience. Then a well-deserved thank you to my mentor Hasitha Rachumalla, who has gone above and beyond to make sure that I had a fun and informative experience. During our multiple 1-to-1 sessions, I learned essential skills for technical interviews, improve my internship applications and reflected on both my personal and professional development; just to mention a few things. Also huge thank you to Nina Ma 马妮娜 FRSA for all the insight you have given me into Software Engineering as a profession.
