#HYPEWOMAN -- More profiles of female VCs performing at the top of THE game please. Shruti Gandhi of Array Ventures is killing it, with her Fund I heading toward 10x returns. What makes her successful as a solo GP? ⚡ She doesn't take a meeting with a founder unless she knows she will invest. (decisive, saving valuable time & energy on both sides) ⚡ She comes to every founder meeting well-researched & prepared. (focusing the call on getting the answers to build conviction quickly) ⚡ She backs founders in the 'agitated workforce', who are so fed up that they build a better solution themselves. #womeninventure #sologp https://lnkd.in/gyGvMEHZ

🌱 For pre-seed/seed founders 🌱 The early stage vc markets have changed drastically -- but many founders don't truly understand how or how much things have shifted until its too late or they are deep into the fundraising process already. This recent Allocate pod lifts the veil on the pre-seed/seed 2024 markets. SO MANY GEMS are packed 💎 into the first 20 min, I had to listen twice. Key takeaways from pre-seed VCs I'm a big fan of Jenny Fielding of Everywhere Ventures, Kirby Winfield at Ascend (PNW represent!) & Nate Williams. 💎 The market in one word: 'turbulent' 💎 Fundraising bi-furcation; 2X founder building in AI (rounds take weeks) vs All Others (rounds take up to 6 months). 💎 "Leading VCs" (ie. first check in) are putting in a TON of work - building conviction & then helping founders fill the round. 💎 Up to 5 rounds pre-A; need lower early valuations to enable step ups 💎 Pre-seed entry valuations have corrected to $5-8M 💎 Round sizes have increased at pre-seed & seed for extended runway Many more insights in the full pod here: https://lnkd.in/gYf-DMr6 #venturecapital #preseed

Closing the women's health gap will add $294B to the USA's GDP. Thank you to Lucy Perez & your team at McKinsey & Company for this country level report! #womenshealth
Senior Partner, Life Sciences, McKinsey & Company. Advising top teams on innovation, sustainability, and organizational transformation
In January, together with my coauthors from the McKinsey Health Institute and World Economic Forum, we launched the global health and economic case for investing in women’s health. Since then, we’ve seen a groundswell of momentum to #CloseTheWomensHealthGap — and received many requests for the country-level data. I am proud to share our latest interactive, which allows users to delve deeper into the country data and explore both the challenges and opportunities to improve women's health worldwide and build stronger economies: https://lnkd.in/dYiRH_XT #WomensHealth #HealthEquity #CloseTheWomensHealthGap Anouk Petersen Valentina Sartori Kweilin Ellingrud Amira Ghouaibi Shyam Bishen, Ph.D., MS, MBA Megan Greenfield, Ph.D. Tracy Francis Brad Herbig Elizabeth Newman Erica Hutchins Coe Kate Midden

Funding 🤑 + Data 📊 = Progress 🚀 for Women's Health. Policymakers and the business/investment community are converging to catalyze the funding & data flywheel needed for progress in #womenshealth. We came together last week at the NYSE Women's Health Investor Summit. Key Data from McKinsey & Company: ✨ Women's Health is a $1T market opportunity globally. Its a $330B opportunity in the US alone. ✨ Only 5% of the women's health burden is on women-specific issues. While a whopping 51% of the burden is related to conditions that impact women differently or disproportionally (ie. Cardiac arrest, autoimmune diseases). ✨ Tip of the research iceberg. Endometriosis is just as prevalent as Diabetes -- 1 in 10 women have it. However, today, we can't diagnose without invasive surgery and there is no cure. Mindset Matters: 📣 "We will build a healthcare system where women aren't an afterthought, but a first thought" - Dr. Jill Biden 📣 "How can we have actual data in women’s health instead of 'constant self-experimentation'?" - Chelsea Clinton 📣 "Its important to measure progress, but can’t stop until we reach parity (in women’s health funding)" - Chelsea Clinton 📣 "Treating people equally is not equitable in Healthcare." - Jessica J. Federer Funding: 💰 $100M in ARPA-H grants will be awarded in the coming months. 💰$275M Advancing Menopause and Mid-Life Women’s Health Act legislation introduced by bi-partisan senators. 💰 Venture investing in women's health has increased 350% in last 5 years. Women are not small men. Although funding & research have improved, less than 5% of R&D spending is going toward women’s health. The sky is insanely blue with opportunity in women's health. ☀ Thank you to Alice Zheng & Jessica J. Federer for co-chairing a magnificent event! So great to see you both!

The Seattle community showed out for 🎦 Show Her the Money this past week! I don't know what was more inspiring... the film itself, or the energy from the audience. Students, founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, angels & LPs came together to learn how Venture Capital can catalyze change and innovation. 🤑 Money is power. Women are building companies to disrupt industries historically not made for them. Women are launching venture funds to capitalize on these $1B opportunities. Fund them. 🤑 Shout out to my favorite female VCs in Seattle changing the game: - Yoko Okano & Minda Brusse at First Row Partners - Martina Welkhoff at Goldenrod Ventures - Annie Luchsinger at Breakers - Leslie Feinzaig & Divya Kakkad at Graham & Walker - Amy Nam McCullough, Elisa La Cava, Tanushree "Tee" Podder at Trilogy Thank you to Catherine Gray Bina Shukla Winona Kantamaneni, MPA for bringing this film to Seattle. Thank you to our friends & investors who came out to support Swizzle Ventures! What a night!
