If you’re using the terms “orientation” and “onboarding” interchangeably, you’re missing the mark. Orientation is what happens on a new hire’s first day. It’s all about paperwork, signatures, and getting the basic IT setup. Onboarding, however, is a more extended process. It starts with orientation but goes much deeper, integrating new hires into the company culture and providing the support they need to thrive. “So, Jennifer, which is more important?” Both.
