Just finished the course “Skills and Competencies for Leading Today's DEI Workforce” by Dr. Shirley Davis! From my own perspective and with several definitions of leadership. I believe the leadership path should be defined from our destination. Whether it is to change the world with our professions or participate within social reforms. Whatever path we choose to take, it should be the path that defines how we act and decide on the future. I just returned from the Global Leadership Summit, and what a powerful experience it was. This is my 5th, and is my one time in the year where I really take in and fill my tank. What's the GLS? The Global Leadership summit started as a leadership movement in Chicago, which has now expanded all over the globe. It's intent is that whenever leaders grow (and regardless of your title or position, if you have influence over others, like it or not, you ARE a leader), everyone gets better. This year's topic was on TRUST. For someone to follow you, they have to trust you. And in today's post-COVID world, with the current geo-political state of things, people will be less likely to trust us. We need to show up, be our AUTHENTIC selves, love people as individuals, be consistent, and believe that we are made for a purpose, chosen to be where we are, and to have faith and hope in a world without it.
