Great piece here from Zip's very own Brooks Rocco's 🛠️ What is the difference between Intake and Procurement Orchestration? https://lnkd.in/gvNT-ti2 Best take away for me 🧐 "Understanding the way Intake Management and the broader Procurement Orchestration differ—and strategically align—is what allows procurement to optimise every dollar and minute spent at each node of the procurement process, from Intake-to-Pay." 👏

The ideal procurement process should be quick and efficient, right? We're here to serve stakeholders and safeguard the business. 💪 But let's face it, in many organizations, it's not that smooth. Yep, we in procurement take some of the blame. Our goal is to shield our organizations from risks, generate cost savings. and bring value, and we're pretty good at it. However, in our pursuit of a rock-solid organization, we end up creating these heavy, complex processes over time. The outcome? A long, bureaucratic process that nobody likes – stakeholders and suppliers included. 🤦♀️ But it doesn't have to be this way. Take a step back, 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. You'll be surprised at how many unnecessary steps you can toss out. ✈️

I love automation , I love efficiency, love agility and bringing value to the business. In the last few years I see Procurement leaders take a step forward to assert the importance of our role and fulfilling the potential of the value we can bring. In this process some buzz words and catch phrases are being thrown by us and to us, and like any cliche, while it’s very true, what is meaningful is the process which led you to it, and I don’t see enough discussions on alignment with the non monetary company goals. Well it’s always about the bottom line and anything has $ value at the end of the day, but discussing cost reduction and contribution to profitability alone reduces the important contribution procurement could have to just the $, and we can and should bring so much more!

1wIt's great to see discussions on the latest technology in procurement taking place! However, the photo suggests that attendance might not be as robust as anticipated Jamie Pierre. This could be a strong indicator that the traditional event format of ProcureCon and perhaps the pricing or location could be limiting wider participation. For truly inclusive and impactful events, considering a hybrid format and more accessible pricing could open up these valuable discussions to a broader audience. Events need to evolve to meet the demands of a global community, especially when focusing on technology advancements that are accessible from anywhere in the world. At the Global Supply Chain Council, we're dedicated to innovating event formats that are not only high-quality and reasonably priced but also eco-friendly and time-effective. Check out our upcoming events designed to meet modern needs at www.gscc.pro/Events. #ProcurementInnovation #TechInProcurement #InclusiveEvents #HybridConferences #GSCC
