Had the pleasure of getting to know the Octane OC team this week with my good friends Bruce Maller and Trish Gulbranson. Enjoyed a productive morning session focused on furthering the mission of this great organization and growing the medical aesthetics market through high-value education. Thank you to Bill Carpou, Janelle Brunette, Natalie Matsumoto, Teresa Madden, and Cara Parchment for hosting us and look forward to the future!

This week, I had the privilege to return to the building where my career in medical aesthetics began nearly 22 years ago. (...thanks to Bob Rhatigan, Nori Ebersole and Brett Fair for giving me that big career break!) The visit back to 2525 DuPont in Irvine was made more special by my host, former manager, mentor, and great friend, Tod Reed, the Senior Vice President of Sales for Allergan Aesthetics, who is retiring after an incredible 37 years leading nearly every sales force in the history of Allergan Aesthetics. Tod is a leader who has not only shaped the aesthetics industry as we know it, but also left an indelible mark on my career and thousands of others. His lessons about leading with integrity, and doing the right thing when no one is looking, will stick with me forever. Tod, Tara Graham and Christopher White arranged a memorable day for me at Allergan Aesthetics' world headquarters meeting with senior leadership to discuss our partnership and the future of the aesthetics market. Thanks to Carrie Strom, Jasson W. Gilmore, Heidi Shurtz and the rest of the Allergan senior leadership group for taking the time to see me! Tod, thank you for a special visit, and here's hoping that you posted some low scores on the golf course this weekend. 🏌♂️ Cheers to you and the enduring legacy you've created, my friend. Skin by Lovely's same-store growth rate in 2023 was MORE THAN DOUBLE the US injectable market's growth rate. Kudos to our amazing team for delivering outstanding patient experiences every day! Demand is at an all-time high, so for the first time in two years, we're looking for a new injector at our NW Portland location.

Kudos to my amazing wife Lovely Laban for leading such a buzz-worthy event last week! Incredible leadership on her part. She brought together local leaders from all corners of the wellness industry in the spirit of market education. This night has been a passion project of hers for years. With her vision now manifested, it’s so cool to see “Best Night Ever” become a can’t miss event on the Portland social calendar.

At Maui DERM with one of the legends of Dermatology, my longtime friend Dr. George Martin. Spoke with him last night about Maui’s recovery from the devastating fires in Lahaina. Dr Martin has been a true leader. Generously donating his position, his platform and his tremendous spirit to help the residents of Maui.
