“Hopefully, there won’t be a need to use this AED, but it’s here just in case a life-saving situation arises. Our Highmark Bright Blue Futures program is designed to ensure healthier, brighter, stronger futures for all, and providing this AED supports the teams’ safety both on and off the field.” - Neil Parham, director of community affairs

We've taken a leadership role in tackling the cost of prescription drugs, and we're seeing results. For example, Highmark members taking abiraterone acetate, which is used to treat prostate cancer, are saving an average of $90 per month in out-of-pocket expenses for the medication through Highmark’s role with CivicaScript and a select specialty pharmacy. Since this lower cost generic became available in September 2023, savings for our members, customers and the health plan have approached $3 million — and that's just on one drug. Learn more about our initiative to lower costs and increase access to generic medications below.

2wAn AED saved my mom’s life. She and my dad were hitting golf balls at the driving range when she had sudden cardiac arrest. I’m so grateful the golf course had an AED and that the golf pro knew how to use it.
