The Jack Cobb Employee-Ownership Award honors employee-owners who are driven, engaged, and consistently demonstrate their personal commitment to making Henny Penny the BEST place to work and grow. Award winners have an entrepreneurial spirit, a “can do” attitude, and understand the responsibility of employee-ownership – like Jack Cobb did. Award recipients display a true ownership mentality and embody Henny Penny's core values: Relationships Matter, Trust, Take the Long View, Seek a Better Way, and Own It.
And a little about Jack Cobb:
Jack Cobb is the former owner and long-time President and CEO of Henny Penny. Jack started at Henny Penny in 1959 as the company's fourth employee. He became President in 1974 and then in 1985 became the sole owner of Henny Penny, serving as President and CEO through 1996. Jack's leadership, vision, and the culture he created enabled Henny Penny to grow into the company we are today. Jack empowered employees. He led by example and was considered—and respected—as tough but fair.
