Curating their own set of media and entertainment apps (like YouTube) seems to be the preference of most premium automakers vs. going "all in" on Google's built-in experience. The key for them is making it seamless and approachable - a completely dissimilar UI will be confusing and off-putting to a lot of users. And how do you build in the recommendation engine? It'll be curious to see how the UX of the "customized" app differs in comparison to the native Google YouTube app. There are some really neat concepts that utilize things like vehicle lighting, seat heating/cooling, HVAC, etc. to create a completely unique viewing experience - think of it like having an immersive theater experience in the car. Will this be something OEMs themselves work with content creators to enable? Or perhaps the controls for this will be psuedo-standardized into the Android Car API and other lower-level standards like COVESA VSS and AUTOSAR? It perfectly represents our role as an #innovation #incubator since it reflects ABI's mission to develop new and innovative digital #solutions that enrich AUDI AG's customer-centric #digital #ecosystem. But what exactly is the Audi stage app? And what does it offer?    The Audi stage app gives Audi drivers in Germany exclusive access to innovative digital services at an early development stage to obtain customer feedback which eventually improves the app’s content and functions. This results in innovations that create day-to-day #driving #experiences that are more diverse and individual as they accommodate customer needs and wishes. 💪  The Audi stage app operates as an addition to the myAudi app.       After successful testing in the German market, services can be integrated into the myAudi app in the #future. If so, the services will then be available in regions where myAudi is already accessible. In the meantime, the Audi stage app will be continuously updated with the latest features in and around the vehicle.    The app was exclusively developed for Audi customers and can be used via Apple CarPlay directly in the vehicle.
