This week, Africell Group's mobile money platform, Afrimoney, joined forces with fintech Pyypl - For 800 million Digital Natives in Emerging Markets to unveil an exclusive Visa card in Sierra Leone. This innovative collaboration integrates seamlessly with Afrimoney's mobile service, offering customers both virtual and personalized physical cards for local and international transactions directly from their Afrimoney Wallet. At the launch event, attended by Africell Group Chairman Ziad Dalloul, CEO Shadi Al-Gerjawi, and Afrimoney Managing Director Martison Obeng-Agyei., alongside government officials including Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh, the significance of this partnership was underscored. Obeng-Agye highlighted how the Afrimoney-PYYPL Visa card bridges mobile money and traditional banking, empowering users with global accessibility to a myriad of services without needing a bank account. Chief Minister Sengeh commended Afrimoney for advancing financial inclusion, marking it as a pivotal milestone in Sierra Leone's economic development. Minister Salima Bah echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Afrimoney's role in democratizing financial services, making them more accessible and user-friendly. Mohamed Bah from PYYPL detailed the simplicity of registering for the app, requiring only a National ID or passport and an Africell number.
