This week Tom and I welcomed two industry veterans to the chat - Bill and Dan Gallivan of Digital WarRoom. The two brothers took different paths to eventually end up founding a company that started with professional services and consulting but now is 90%+ focused on software. Join us to hear about their journey as founders, how they are able to utilize their unique yet complementary skill sets to help their clients, and some thoughts on the future of eDiscovery and shifts within the industry.

I can't directly address Giovanni's viewpoints, but I can assert with certainty that the panel discussion urgently requires the presence of cybersecurity experts. Specifically, we need professionals with deep knowledge in this field, rather than individuals who loosely juggle technical jargon. The PKI Consortium is the global membership organization that champions the interests of certificate authorities. These are the security firms tasked with verifying domain ownership identity for decades. I had the opportunity to contribute the article linked below for them, focusing on identity verification, and visual indicators used by consumers to differentiate between verified businesses and impersonators on the internet.
It looks like MEF is making all of the old mistakes that have been corrected in recent years by browser vendors. Browser vendors removed website identity from all browsers because nobody paid attention to the visual padlock. And that had the support of the entire ecosystem for 20+ years. CAs are still selling domain ID verification, just like MEF is still selling expensive Sender ID verification even though it does *nothing* to protect subscribers. Banks and brands don’t realize that they’re paying for brand reputation protection even though their brands aren’t being protected. The opposite is true.
Phone numbers are not a form of identity in the context of cybersecurity, perhaps it is for marketing spam.
