Juneteenth is a day of liberation. On this day in 1865, Executive Order No. 3 freed all enslaved people in Texas. Today, we celebrate the resilience of our ancestors. We show gratitude to Mrs. Opal Lee for her advocacy to make today a recognized holiday. Last weekend, we came together under unity and love for our Juneteenth Festival & Farmers Market. It was a day of fellowship and community. Big shoutout to our annual Juneteenth Festival title partner @dtlrofficial - your annual contributions to this community experience mean so much to us. Over 1,800 community members joined us and enjoyed free food, fresh produce, swimming, dancing, mechanical bull, @thehoopbus, and so much more! Summer is here and our driveway needs a little TLC before our annual festivals and outdoor programming!
