As a proud sponsor of the annual Ambassador of Golf event, we're honored to help raise funds for the Northern Ohio Golf Charities & Foundation to support Ohio non-profits. Lorna Wisham, VP Corporate Affairs & Community Involvement, introduced the FirstEnergy Foundation and our participation in supporting the annual Ambassador of Golf event, while Brian Tierney, President & CEO of FirstEnergy, kicked off introductions of Peyton Manning, who is this year's Ambassador of Golf recipient. Manning is featured in this year's iconic annual portrait painting as the 2024 Ambassador of Golf award recipient, showcasing a collage of his love for football and golf. The painting will be displayed alongside past Ambassador of Golf recipients at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH.

We recently received an Emergency Recovery Award from the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) in recognition of our outstanding response in restoring power to hundreds of thousands of customers in portions of our service areas following Winter Storms Finn and Gerri, which produced high winds, rain, ice and snow in January 2024. It's time for #PeopleBehindThePower! This week we're excited to introduce, Maggie Myers! Maggie is a manager on our Process Improvement team and has been with FirstEnergy for nearly 18 years. Being very involved in our outreach events and even helping lead some of our community groups, Maggie loves getting to be a part of making a difference. "The aspect I love most about my job at FirstEnergy is the ability to influence change that allows people to flourish – whether that be through the work my team leads...or externally through our efforts to support The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Akron. There’s a famous phrase that reads, 'We rise by lifting others,' which is the perfect representation of the work that I am most passionate about.'"

The annual Ambassador of Golf event, presented by the FirstEnergy Foundation, raises funds to support nonprofit organizations across Northeast Ohio. A total of 47 nonprofits received grants this year from the money raised at last year's event. Read more: http://spr.ly/60479GDWU

In honor of #WomenInEngineeringDay this week, we're excited to introduce Courtney as our #PeopleBehindThePower spotlight! Courtney is a chemical engineer and currently works as a supervisor for our Substation & Transmission Services team. Having been a part of the team for 5 years, one of her favorite things about her job is the people she gets to work with. "I love how nice and helpful everyone is at FirstEnergy. I really enjoy working in my department, I’m newer to the group and they have been so welcoming." 👷

Happy #PeopleBehindThePower day! Meet Siraj, who is a manager on our Energy Efficiency team and has been with FirstEnergy for 30 years! Part of Siraj's role enables him to interact with customers as he helps in furthering our energy efficient goals. But that's not all Siraj is interested in. "I am a great fan of J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy works – The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I am very familiar with characters and places of the Middle Earth and we go to Canada almost every year for vacation."
