💡 UN Foundation Calls for Corporate Commitments to Women’s Health and Wellbeing 💬 “Worker health is a human right and is critical to productive companies, growing economies, and resilient communities. As we work to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, this is a significant moment to recognize that women in particular face systemic health disparities that are increasingly exacerbated by climate change and other global crises. Corporations must take effective action now to adopt policies and practices that ensure health and wellbeing, and drive equity.” Dilly Severin, Executive Director of the Universal Access Project at the United Nations Foundation #femtech #womenshealth #womenshealthinnovation #health #healthcare #womenintheworkplace #unitednations #ecosystem #support #partnership #sdg

Hey there! Today, let's dive into the profound significance of women's health and why it deserves the spotlight it truly needs. Foundation of Empowerment: A woman's health is the cornerstone of her empowerment. When she's healthy, she can conquer her dreams, contribute to her community, and drive positive change. It's about more than physical well-being; it's about enabling her to thrive in all aspects of life. A Ripple Effect of Wellness: When a woman prioritizes her health, it creates a ripple effect of wellness that touches everyone around her—her family, friends, colleagues, and society at large. Healthy women lead to healthier communities, and healthier communities lead to a healthier world. Educating and breaking barriers: Knowledge is power! By spreading awareness and accurate information about women's health issues, we empower women to make informed decisions about their bodies, mental well-being, and overall wellness. Let's break down barriers and myths, ensuring everyone has access to the right knowledge. Advocating for Equal Access: Advocating for women's health means advocating for equal access to healthcare. Every woman should have access to quality healthcare services, regardless of her background, economic status, or geographical location. It's a fundamental right that we must tirelessly fight for. Diversity and inclusivity matter. Women's health is a vast spectrum that encompasses diverse experiences. We must celebrate and respect this diversity, acknowledging that every woman's journey is unique. By embracing inclusivity, we ensure that healthcare is tailored to suit individual needs and cultures. Building a supportive sisterhood: Let's nurture a culture of support and understanding among women. Encouragement, empathy, and lifting each other up can do wonders for our mental health and emotional well-being. Together, we form a powerful sisterhood that stands strong through all of life's ups and downs. Let's champion women's health every day, not just today. Women's health matters! Join the conversation, share your insights, and let's create a world where women's health is a priority, celebrated, and universally accessible. Research shows that closing the women’s #health gap could boost the global economy by $1 trillion annually by 2040. For the average #woman, this would mean seven more days of living in good health each year and more time to be in the #workforce. Closing the gap would also contribute to a stronger #society, because healthier people are able to spend more time #engaging with the world around them.

As an HR strategy and DEI consultant and coach, I often consult with organizations and leaders on how to promote and support inclusive workplace cultures. More and more the conversation has expanded to include wellness in the workplace, so for me this recent report from the McKinsey Health Institute was incredibly poignant and timely. I strongly feel that to achieve our inclusion goals, we must tackle health and wellness as a priority. We must address the unique needs of women who are often serving as primary care givers, key decision makers and primary wage earners. The data speaks volumes. Creating space to have these types of conversations is no longer optional. It’s a human and business imperative.
Are we valuing women’s health in the workplace as much as we should? A recent report by McKinsey Health Institute indicates that there is much more that can and should be done. In the spirit of #whm, this week's Impact Insights will focus on female health equity. Health equity is a silent yet essential driver of both inclusion and productivity in the workplace. Women's health, in particular, remains a largely private concern that rarely gets the attention it deserves. Understanding the Impact: ⭐ A healthy workforce is foundational to corporate wellness; yet health disparities, among genders, remains a challenge. ⭐ Healthier individuals foster longevity, happiness, and increased productivity. ⭐ Evidence shows that healthier organizations outperform their competition by a lot. The Business Imperative to Women's Health: ⭐ A staggering 80% of the health gap for women unfolds during prime working years. ⭐ This gap persists with women experiencing more prolonged periods of poor health compared to men. ⭐ Bridging this health gap has the potential to uplift the global GDP by $1 trillion annually by 2040. As leaders and change-makers, we have an opportunity to reshape the narrative. By closing the health gap, we don't just empower women; we catalyze economic growth and create workplaces where everyone thrives. 📢 Prioritizing health is good for people and good for the bottom line. What are you doing to promote a healthy workplace? #Inclusiveleadership, #WHM, #healthandwellness, #healthequity, #genderequity

Health Equity: A Business Imperative for a Thriving Workforce In today's competitive landscape, a healthy workforce is paramount. Yet, health disparities persist, hindering employee well-being and impacting businesses. Health equity, where everyone has the opportunity for optimal health, is not just a moral imperative, but a strategic business decision. Here's why: Healthier employees are more productive: Disparities lead to higher absenteeism and presenteeism, costing businesses billions. Diversity thrives in a healthy environment: A focus on health equity fosters inclusion, creating a more engaged and innovative workforce. Stronger communities, stronger businesses: Businesses rely on healthy communities. By promoting health equity, businesses contribute to a more resilient talent pool. Investing in health equity initiatives like wellness programs, culturally sensitive healthcare navigation, and community health partnerships can yield significant returns. Let's prioritize health equity to build a thriving workforce and a healthier future for all. #healthequity #workforcewellbeing #corporatewellness
