🌈 This past Pride Month, we honored the courage, tenacity, and beautiful spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities worldwide, at EA and in our games. It was a month filled with events, programs, and initiatives that saw us celebrate, acknowledge, and reflect on the issues challenging the rights and freedoms of many members of this community around the globe. 🧤 Gloves? Check. 🔨 Shovels? Check. 🌿 Tarps? Check. 🌱 Expert ecologist? Check. The mission? To seek and destroy invasive plants while learning how to protect and nurture our natural surroundings. 🌲 Our very own Heather N., Production Coordinator at Frostbite, spearheaded the initiative by creating Invasive Plants vs. Frosties, a group dedicated to removing invasive plants in the woods of Discovery Place Conservation Area, surrounding EA Vancouver. Surgent Studios and Electronic Arts share a belief that games and the broader gaming industry are for everyone. We're proud to collaborate with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Foundation to support their program, Amplifying New Voices. This program reaches 36 young professionals who are looking to break into the games industry by providing them with speaker training, leadership coaching and attendance at the next Games Developer Conference to help further build their networks. Today we honor and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and the freedom of African Americans in 1865. It’s a time to reflect on the resilience, strength, and enduring spirit of African American and Black culture. We remember the struggles of the past, celebrate the progress made, and continue to strive for equality, justice, and unity.

At Electronic Arts, we honor the courage, tenacity, and vibrant representation of LGBTQ+ identities worldwide and in our games. In Apex Legends, our roster proudly features 26 characters who represent many different identities that make our world so unique. Characters such as Loba and Valkyrie openly discuss their relationships, Gibraltar reflects on love lost and found, and Catalyst proudly identifies as a "grim trans witch." Creative Director, Manny H., emphasizes that these character developments are essential to authentically represent the various players we serve and the world we live in. This month, and every month, we celebrate our LGBTQ+ voices both in-game and beyond.

A round of applause for our CISO, Mike Reavey! 🎉 As a fitness enthusiast, sneakerhead, and military veteran, Mike’s unique leadership has earned him the prestigious 2024 Seattle ORBIE Award. His strategy has revolutionized EA’s security culture, making “the secure way the easy way.” His team’s innovative approach has safeguarded 650 million player accounts from takeover and cheating. Amidst industry-wide cybersecurity challenges, Mike’s leadership has propelled growth, strengthened defenses, and maintained high engagement across EA.
