University Recruiting SME | Independent consultant to employers hiring early talent | Provider of unbiased student recruiting research
It’s three years ago this month that I joined forces with Matthew Brink, Kathleen Schaum and J. Seldric Blocker, MHR, PHR to discuss the findings and implications of the NACE research project ‘Succeeding in the New Normal: Student Attitudes and Effective Virtual Recruiting’ [I’ll drop the link in Comments]. ▶ As we continue to chart the way forward after more twists and turns than we could ever have imagined in early 2021, this much is clear: students overwhelmingly prefer in-person, on-campus interaction. SRG’s recently completed fall research project ‘Recruiting Engagement: Expectations and Experiences’ is loaded with compelling data in support of that conclusion. ▶ It’s also clear that, as we hear from many corners, ‘hybrid is here to stay’, so my spring 2024 project is ‘IMPACT of Virtual Recruiting on the Job Search’ – because although much has changed since 2021, most of what students valued pre-COVID has not. And that has significant implications for early talent recruiting EXECUTION, virtual and hybrid – as well as in-person on-campus. 👉 For those career center leaders with an interest in learning more about the project, but not on distribution for the one-pager I recently sent out to prior university sponsors, just shoot me a DM. Happy to provide details!

College and the talent markets aren't what they used to be. Hiring practices are shifting, younger generations are choosing alternative education pathways (see article - https://lnkd.in/gyVaAPXM). Both traditional and more modern approaches offer value. It makes me wonder what opportunities exist for #colleges / #universities and #familybusinesses to worker closer together as the rate of change continues to accelerate exponentially. #Familybusinessowners, #advisors, and center directors, any thoughts: Jill Hofmans, Keanon Alderson, Timothy Schultz, Sally Derstine, Daniel G. Van Der Vliet, Justin Smith, Matthew Kerzner, Ph.D., Dave Specht, Casey Stevens, and Ed Hart.

Finding Senior Leaders for Higher Education Institutions As seen in Hunt Scanlon Media's recently released Higher Education Executive Recruiting Newsletter, Paula Fazli, senior vice president at Lindauer, sat down with our editors to discuss the ever-changing climate for higher #education institutions today and how search firms are stepping up to fill senior positions. "It’s clear that over the last decade, university presidents have had to address a slew of growing internal challenges—things like shrinking budgets, declining enrollment, and faculty and graduate #student unionization drives—that are connected to the operations and the unique structures of higher education systems," said Ms. Fazli. "Presidents today need to be able to address and engage with a range of complex, often divisive external challenges—such as global conflict and intense scrutiny from Congress—that are having increasingly greater impact on the culture and climate on campuses."
