Eden Wells’ Post

Chief Insights and Decision Science Officer, Novartis US

While there are many ways to spend our time, it was a rare privilege to spend some self-development time with Cassie Kozyrkov and immerse in deeper framing and skills to help enterprise adoption of AI. My favorite principle (it’s an oldie but goodie), AI is not the end goal. Solving hard business problems and delivering better outcomes is the goal - AI can be a powerful tool on your journey. Many kudos and thanks to Cassie and the cohort for the enriching sessions.

Absolutely, this principle helps us cut through the hype of emerging technologies like AI, Data Mesh etc.. keeping us focused on solving the real business problems at hand. Matching relevant and smart technology to Business problems is both an art and a science..

Can’t agree more. One has to skilfully drive their vehicle (AI/Automation) with efficient fuel (experience/business acumen/perseverance) on a path riddled with turns (real life business problems) to get to your destination (business outcomes) and even far P.S. Always a scope for hybrid fuel ;-)

Completely echoing your thoughts here Eden. We at times tend to forget (while running the AI race) that it is a means to the end. The focus should always be to solve hard/complex business problems and AI can aid us (or may be not) in that journey by making the effort smart.

AI is not the ultimate objective; rather, it is a potent tool to solve challenging business problems and deliver superior outcomes. Our goal remains focused on achieving better results, with AI guiding our journey.

Couldn’t agree more. Ultimately, nothing matters more than the business and patient value delivered.

Nicely captured Eden, AI is NOT the goal. One of the "Kozyr" criteria! - "What is it for?" from Cassie!

AI to me Eden Wells is not artificial intelligence, it is Augmented Intelligence, a collaborative tool rather than a replacement. Thank you for sharing! Maureen (Vittery) Grundy

Yes Eden Wells yes yes yes! AI is a means to the end of solving important business problems. That is good.
