President Obama once said - "Reading is the gateway for children that makes all other learning possible" (almost) No truer words have ever been spoken. Today I had the honor of reading to my daughters second grade class at Empowerment Academy Charter School | Jersey City, NJ as part of read across America week. We should all take a moment to reflect on the importance of the work my daughter Christina Reichart and teachers like her all across this great country do for the children in our society, for they are the true gateway that makes all learning possible.
