This year's EURAM conference (EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT) was very special for me. Aside from visiting the picturesque city of Bath, I had the opportunity to present our research on "Patent analysis to determine circular economy strategies for end-of-life EV batteries" along with my collaborators Frank Tietze and Pratheeba Vimalnath (Dr Nigel S. Clarke was missed). Our work received very positive and constructive feedback from the amazing attendees in our panel. I also had the opportunity to meet some wonderful researchers working in similar fields on #circulareconomy.

A reminder that we currently have a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, who will work full-time on a project examining IP Licensing Practices for COVID-19 Vaccine Production, funded by the British Academy. The successful applicant will be based at Queen Mary University of London and will work under the supervision of Professor Duncan Matthews alongside co-investigators Professor Ken Shadlen, Dr. Żaneta Zemła - Pacud (Institute of Law Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences), Professor Esther van Zimmeren (Faculty of Law and GOVTRUST Centre of Excellence, University of Antwerp) and Professor Timo Minssen (Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law, CeBIL, University of Copenhagen). Applicants should already hold a PhD in Intellectual Property Law, Health Policy, or related fields. Applicants must also have experience of using patent information sources including PATENTSCOPE, VaxPaL, Lens and national patent databases, knowledge of regulatory data sources including the European Medicines Agency and the United States Food and Drug Administration, experience of qualitative research methods, such as designing questionnaires and/or conducting interviews, and experience of drafting research outputs for varied audiences. We are hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate for a new British Academy-funded project on Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic for IP Licensing Practices in Vaccine Production. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under supervision of Duncan Matthews alongside co-investigators Ken Shadlen, Żaneta Zemła - Pacud, Esther van Zimmeren and Timo Minssen. The project will analyse the role that IP licensing practices have played in COVID-19 vaccine production with particular reference to patents, know-how, trade secrets and regulatory data. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will play a key role in data collection, questionnaire design and implementation to support analysis, dissemination and outcomes. At Maastricht University School of Business and Economics Maastricht Sustainability Institute, we are looking to recruit a PhD-researcher in Circular Business Models and Ecosystems. The researcher will work for the new EU project 'DRASTIC' which is about designing sustainable buildings with reduced embodied energy and carbon emissions, high life-cycle performance, and reduced life-cycle costs. The project is led by VITO (Michiel Ritzen) and involves several other industry and academic partners including Maastricht Sustainability Institute (Veronique Vasseur & Nancy Bocken) who are responsible for the circular business model work. The PhD candidate is expected to conduct novel research with a focus on novel circular business models and ecosystems in the building sector related to the project.
