Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)'s global support unit and IOM Regional Data Hub (EHSA) are hosting a four-day regional training in Nairobi from 25 to June 28 2024. This regional training is essential in supporting the more comprehensive DTM network at the regional and country levels across Eastern and Southern Africa. It will outline the Global DTM Workplan 2024-2025 and its application to regional and country offices, deploying operational tools to support the broader data foundation work and methodological enhancements. It's about coming together as a network and supporting alignment in core aspects of DTM operations—recognising the myriad contexts in which DTM works and the need for adaptability and flexibility. This training also provides a platform for us to (re)connect, share knowledge, and develop collaborative strategies for strengthening the implementation of DTM activities. For more on engagements, events, other areas of training and publications, follow IOM's RDH EHSA LinkedIn Page: https://lnkd.in/gS5g_K7D #Data4Action

Online participants at Evidence 2023 took a tour of the SAMEA Virtual Evaluation guideline with lessons learned from virtual evaluation. This session introduced participants to the SAMEA virtual evaluation guideline - a free digital resource - and shared experiences and lessons learned from virtual evaluation practice in South Africa and Kenya. Virtual evaluation is the adaptation of an evaluation design and methodology, whereby planning, data collection, data analysis and reporting, take place from a different location separate from where the initiative was implemented i.e., in-person activities are replaced with digital, in-person interaction but without physical contact. Virtual evaluation can be undertaken throughout the evaluation cycle or at key steps e.g., design in-person and undertake data collection virtually. It differs from traditional evaluation practice by increasing the use of technology and secondary data. Watch: https://lnkd.in/dh_5Sh-P.
