🪩 EVENT 🪩 Last week, Detralytics had the pleasure of attending two major events in the actuarial field: the #NightofActuaries in Brussels, organized by the IABE - Institute of Actuaries in Belgium (IA|BE), and the #NuitdesActuaires in Paris organized by Kactu'Z (a french actuarial association). ✨ These evenings were the perfect opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our professional community and celebrate the dynamism of our profession. 🙏 We would like to express our deep gratitude to the organizers for their remarkable work and dedication in making these events a resounding success. 🚀 Welcome to the Team 🚀 After reviewing hundreds of applications, we are thrilled to welcome our new intern, Abdelkarim Anejjar, to the Detralytics family! Abdelkarim is a dedicated and talented student currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science at EURIA. He joined EURIA through a double degree program with the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSEA) in Morocco, where he received rigorous training in Actuarial Science and Finance. 🌱 At Detralytics, Abdelkarim will be contributing as an intern and later as an apprentice in Climate ORSA, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to our projects. 🚴 🏊♂️ Beyond his academic excellence, Abdelkarim has a profound passion for sports, particularly cycling and swimming. Cycling gives him a sense of freedom and motivates him to overcome personal challenges, while swimming provides him with serenity and well-being through its smooth movements. 🎙️ CONGRESS 🎙️ 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼 During the #ECA2024, our consultants Adnane Akbaraly and Comlan Rodrigue TOSSOU presented their work on Risk Management with Local Least Square Monte Carlo (co-written with our Scientific Advisor, Donatien Hainaut). The LSMC method has become a standard in the insurance and finance sectors for calculating a company's exposure to market risk. We propose the LLSMC method, based on an a priori segmentation of responses using a clustering algorithm. We then combine the local regressions applied within each cluster to obtain a global regression function. This method provides a robust, interpretable, and more accurate model than LSMC while maintaining a similar level of complexity. 🎙️ CONGRESS 🎙️ ➡️ Cyber incident reports: extrapolating severity using neural networks    Last friday, Our TCP consultant Hugo Rapior presented his work on the modelling of the severity in Cyber Risk using neural networks and Natural Language Processing (NLP) on incident descriptions at the #ECA2024 (European Congress of Actuaries) in Rome.   The paper co-authored with Justin Kher and Olivier Lopez is available on the Detralytics website for everyone to read (🔗 Link in the comments section). ⚡BREAKING NEWS⚡ 🇫🇷 Nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer la nomination de Laurent Devineau au poste de CEO Detralytics France. 🕵️♂️ Qui est Laurent ? Laurent Devineau est actuaire diplômé de l’ISFA et agrégé de mathématiques. Il débute sa carrière comme enseignant avant d’intégrer la société Suravenir où il a travaillé sur des problématiques de valorisation de portefeuilles emprunteurs et de construction de lois d’expérience. Laurent a ensuite dirigé pendant près d’une quinzaine d’années, les activités de Recherche & Développement et d’Innovation des cabinets Milliman et Addactis. Il a notamment accompagné durant cette période un grand nombre d’acteurs de marché dans leurs travaux réglementaires autour des dispositifs Solvabilité 2 et IFRS 17, ainsi que dans la modélisation de leurs risques financiers et de souscription. Laurent a par ailleurs occupé le poste de Directeur de la Mesure des Risques au sein d’Allianz France où il était responsable du calcul du capital économique Solvabilité 2 de cette entité.   En janvier 2024, Laurent rejoint Detralytics en tant qu'Innovation Lead afin de promouvoir l’innovation au cœur des pratiques et de la stratégie du cabinet. Quelques mois plus tard, Laurent est nommé CEO de Detralytics France.   📝 Message de Laurent : "Je suis très enthousiaste à l'idée de contribuer au développement des offres stratégiques du cabinet et d'accompagner nos clients dans leurs projets majeurs. 🌟 WELCOME TO THE TEAM 🌟 Nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer l’arrivée d'Eléonore Haguet en tant que Senior Expert - Domain Lead Vie & Finance chez Detralytics. 🔍 Après avoir commencé sa carrière en modélisation en assurance vie chez Addactis, Eléonore a rejoint la Direction des risques de BNP Paribas Cardif pour approfondir ses connaissances en gestion des risques. Elle a ensuite intégré la Direction actuariat en tant que référente sur les études Épargne, puis en tant que responsable des modèles actuariels Épargne IFRS17 et S2. Par la suite, Eléonore a eu l'opportunité de vivre une expérience humaine et enrichissante au sein de KPMG, où elle était responsable de la réussite opérationnelle des missions. Aujourd'hui, le poste de Senior Expert chez Detralytics lui permet de poursuivre son engagement dans l'innovation et l'accompagnement des clients dans leur transformation actuarielle. En parallèle, Eléonore est Vice-Présidente de la Commission Vie Épargne de l'Institut des actuaires, membre de la Commission Prudentielle et de la Commission Finance et Gestion d'Actifs.
