After becoming Non resident Indian(NRI), I exited all my indian investments to reduce complexity in my finances and I was dreading doing my indian taxes this year, there were 2k+ entries and Google stock grants added to complexity. Over the weekend, I finally mustered enough discipline, ClearTax gracefully handled multiple edge case, ITR product have grown even more since I was there 5 years ago, proud to call it my first employer. Kudos to the team 👏 👏 cc: Archit Gupta, Ankit Solanki, Srivatsan Chari

Unfortunately, today I received the sad news that I am part of 11,000 employees who were laid off by Meta #Metalayoff I was not expecting to be part layoff, as I had a strong performance in all quarters since I joined Meta. I started incredible journey to work in Meta 9 months back, but it abruptly came to an end. I really loved my time at Meta and enjoyed it. It was great experience. I met many awesome, cool, talented people and I will miss my work at Meta. I put my best effort at one of the best places out there to work. I want to thank all incredible talented Metamates, friends, my managers Jeffrey Chonko, Mark Lambert & Jatinder Singh for awesome support during this incredible journey. Stay strong all other 11,000 Metamates who have been laid off. That being said, I am on H1-B visa and my clock to leave USA has started today. I am reaching out to all Metamates, connections, LinkedIn community to help me find a job in otherwise I have to leave USA with my kids. I have been in USA for 16 years and have seen 2008, 2015 (oil), 2020 downturns but never lost my job. My 2 sons (Arjun - superman, Yash -Chicken) are US citizens, and their lives will be impacted. I will do whatever in my power to give them best opportunity to succeed in USA. Hence, I need a new job in USA ASAP. I am asking for a call for action to help me find a job. Thanks! Thank you everyone on this LinkedIn community, Metamates, and all friends for overwhelming response and support. I will be responding to everyone shortly. I work for Twitter and I continue to do so after today's events. My best wishes and positive thoughts to all Tweeps that are still a part of Twitter teams and also to the team members that are no longer a part of Twitter. Today I feel compelled to join the chorus of voices here to offer my support to all Tweeps and to assert how great Twitter employees are! As I joined Twitter 1.5 years ago, right off the bat I saw how humble, respectful and inclusive Twitter culture was. Over time I came to learn that Tweeps bring amazing skills and abilities to the table to build robust and resilient applications that are truly Internet scale! All Tweeps are inspired and feel responsible to enable public conversation. I learnt so much from my fellow Tweeps and continue to do so. Any leaders that are looking to hire, please know that when you hire any ex-Tweep you are not only getting a valuable and skilled team member but also getting a caring and purpose-driven individual. Any ex-Tweeps that are looking to interview, I am offering to help in any way I can: train for interviews, review resumes or help you in any other way. Wish you all the best 🤞 #oneteam #twitter #tweep #support #interviewhelp

"Thoughts on opportunity with Google", this was part of discussion during interview process, what I wrote back is in attached pic, today marks 1 year since I Joined Google and am still humbled by this opportunity. My parent are small farmers and my father did multiple jobs to send me to school and later scholarships helped also. It is heartwarming to realize that information is democratized to the extent that anyone with minimal cost can access it and find/enjoy their passion. #google

wonderful articulation about real motive of #gsoc
Although, I have an enriching experience as a Google Summer of Code student for two consecutive years during my graduation, there is a misconception about the program that I would like to address. Students everywhere are exaggerating about their so called achievement of getting into GSoC and as a result, it's getting overhyped. Students are picking up silly projects just to get into GSoC. Trust me, getting into GSoC should not be your goal. Google's dream was to promote the culture of open source softwares but instead GSoC has turned into a competition in which you are heavily compensated and can live the rest of your college days feeling proud of your so called achievement. I agree that GSoC can open you to a plethora of opportunities but it happens only because of the quality of your open source contributions. Open source aims to provide free software for all and it should be the desire to give back to the community you so freely take softwares from that should encourage you to contribute to open source. Trust me, getting into GSoC is NOT a criteria anywhere, it's NOT an achievement. It scares me to see students trying for years to get into GSoC. If you are contributing relentlessly to open source just to get into a program like GSoC, please stop! Dream bigger, dream better!
