Last week, members of our global beverage industry had the honor of participating with thousands of delegates from around the world to help drive real progress forward on an effective global treaty to end plastic pollution. The conversations aren’t easy and much remains to be done, but we are encouraged by the spirit of consensus we witnessed when governments agreed on the workstreams needed in advance of the final negotiation session in Busan later this year. From the beginning, ICBA has supported the development of an ambitious Treaty that covers the full lifecycle of plastic, drives harmonization across markets, and delivers business certainty. Our goal is to support real progress in these negotiations and help shift roadblocks to success. In Ottawa, we had the opportunity to offer delegations from Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America a real-world experience of Extended Producer Responsibility. Our thanks to our hosts at Cascades+ for allowing our group to tour their best-in-class container Material Recycling Facility and answering the myriad questions from our attendees. And thank you to our colleagues Canadian Beverage Association for co-hosting this event. It was an honor to be present and participating in INC-4, and we look forward to the path toward Busan.
