Congratulations to the Cleburne Police Department (CPD) for being reaccredited again! CPD was first accredited in 2016 and was reaccredited in 2020...and now 2024. Accreditation is voluntary and requires law enforcement agencies to prove that they meet or exceed 173 difficult standards based on Texas law, Texas court decisions and contemporary best practices as identified by the Texas Police Chiefs Association. Currently, there are only approximately 210 agencies that have attained accredited status out of more than 2,800 law enforcement agencies in Texas.

After more than 66 years in the funeral business helping countless families in the Johnson County area, Jimmy and Carol Wray have retired. To honor the service, contributions, kindness and love they have shown to the community, Mayor Scott Cain named June 11, 2024 Jimmy and Carol Wray Day. And that’s not all! Mayor Cain also gave them the keys to the city because of the impact the couple has made. This is only the third time the Mayor has presented keys to the city. Enjoy retirement, Jimmy and Carol! We appreciate everything you’ve done to make Cleburne an even better place.
