One of my favorite quotes is from the legend Satchel Paige. I ask people often, “How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?” You’re never too old, it’s never too late, to be anything you want to be. My dad retired when he was 74 and promptly went back to college to get the degree that service in WWII and raising a family took from him. He did it so he could become a volunteer tutor at the elementary school my brother and I attended. He reinvented himself at 74! So…….. how old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? #inspiration #youcan #motivation #believeinyourself
You can go back to college at 31. You can adopt a child at the age of 39. You can go back to nursing school at 42 after raising your kids. You can learn how to teach your first online course at the age of 48. You can reinvent yourself again at the age of 55 (I’m talking to myself here). You can get married at 63. You can move to Cambodia and teach English to elementary school students at the age of 69 (that’s what my mother-in-law Judie did). Life doesn’t end at 30, so STOP acting like it does! Tell me something you’re proud of that you did AFTER you turned 30 in the comments! 👇 #melrobbins #motivation #reinventyourself

On behalf of the entire MotionSource team, we wish you a happy Independence Day. We must remember we are a nation of immigrants, our diversity is what makes us strong. It has never weakened us, it has only woven a stronger fabric for our nation. We are diverse as America herself at MotionSource, with team members carrying the ancestry of Italian, English, Irish, Scottish, Polish, German, French, Finnish, Spanish, African and Native American blood. It’s been said that if our times are difficult and perplexing, so are they challenging and filled with opportunity, the opportunity to come together as a nation. These times are difficult, but I believe we can rise above and see each other not as adversaries, but as brothers and sisters. As someone once said, I believe there is nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed by what is right with America. We all share this short moment of life together, surely we can find common ground, common goals and put our differences aside. We ARE the shining beacon on the hill. Let’s remember that. I love this Country. I still remember my Grandma telling me how she immigrated to this country and In her heart believed the streets were paved with gold. She wasn’t wrong. They can be, if we work together. So this July 4th, let’s not look at our differences, let’s look at what binds us together as a nation. A nation of mutts, with a common belief in life, liberty and most importantly…. the pursuit of happiness. “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” Happy Birthday America! #America #July4

Like many of you, I tend to be an overthinker at times. It sometimes bogs me down and it stymies me at other times. I was reminded of this recently from an online post, and I recalled the book I read long ago. The lesson is still relevant. It’s from the book, “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse”. In it, the boy and the horse are lost in the woods, not being able to find a way out. The boy, frightened, turns to the horse and says, “I don’t know what to do, I can’t see a way out of the woods.” The horse, relying on the boy, turns to him and says, “Can you see your next step?” The boy says, “Yes I can.” And the horse replies, “Then just take that.” Sometimes we look too far into the future and get tangled up, overwhelmed, in where we think we should be. It’s always helped me to break large projects or large goals into small steps. We can take the small steps that we can see, without being concerned about the end goal. One step at a time may sometimes be the longest route, but the one that’ll take us where we need to be. Be confident in taking the next step. Just make the right move……. the next step for now. You’ll get where you need to be when you need to be there. No one can stop you except yourself. Just take the next step. You’ll get where you need to go, where you need to be. You’ll get out of the woods. You got this. #inspiration #yougotthis #noworries

When I was a little kid, we used to visit my grandmother every Sunday. She always had a small gift for us, nothing expensive, just a small present to occupy our minds. Sometimes it was a something to enjoy, sometimes it was something to learn from. My favorite, and the one I still remember was a 45 record she gave me of “Everyday People” from Sly and the Family Stone. I’m pretty sure as a child, it made little sense to me. Even now, how a 65 year old woman heard, or understood, the message of that song is beyond me. But she did, and thought it important enough to share. As I grew older, and experienced more of life, her message, and the song’s message became more and more clear. She wanted me to realize………….we are all the same. I’m no better and neither are you. “We got to live together.” I still learn from that. At MotionSource International we work with international customers every day. I’ve made friends with customers in Poland, Romania, Mexico, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Vietnam, the UK and Germany. We all clumsily weave the same fabric of life, we’re no different. We all do our best for those we call family. No one is better than me, nor am I better than anyone else. We’re all in this together, and if we’re lucky, we make an impression on this world and maybe someone we otherwise wouldn’t. Few of us will ever have the power to bend history. But if we remember to respect one another, we can change the world. As Steve Jobs told us, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” Let’s do this together, all of us everyday people. #learn #inspiration

This made an impression on me. Everyone knows Charles Schulz, the creator of Charlie Brown and Snoopy. This is borrowed from him…….. You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read this straight through and you'll get the point. It’ll make you realize how rich you are! Here's the first quiz: 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world. 2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners. 3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest. 4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize. 5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress. 6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners. How did you do? Get any? The facts are these, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. Now here's another quiz. See how you do on this one: 1. List a teacher who aided your journey through school and life. 2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. 3. Name two people who have taught you something worthwhile. 4. Think of a few people who make you feel appreciated and special. 5. Think of someone you enjoy spending time with. Was that easier? The lesson? The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the people you know, the ones that care about you. “Strange, isn't it? Each life touches so many other lives. And when one isn't around it leaves an awful hole, doesn't it? You see, you have a wonderful life.” You got this. I know you do. You do too. #motivation #inspiration

“For what it’s worth... it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.” You can do this, you got this! #inspiration #yougotthis

“A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?” Anyone lucky enough to share their life with a dog thinks theirs is the best. And you know what? None of them are wrong. #dogs
